Recovery

Hi, A good week? I hope so and if it hasn’t been, fingers crossed that things soon improve. Off-line With half-term underway, the Jones Crew have been taking it easy on a much needed staycation. We’ve had plenty of dog walks, breakfast out, and a few trips here& there. Child 2.0 does love history, bless him, so we’ve visited castles and spent time in the local library. Local luxuries With the Ever Lovely Mrs J at home resting, Child 2.0 and I headed into the suburbs and to the nearest big library. I had planned to drop him off, then have a pootle* around the charity shops, before picking him up. ( Pootle: to take a slow walk around a […]

Resale therapy

Hi, Thank goodness it’s a bank holiday weekend as I’m in need of some downtime. Old Git It’s funny, in that our staycation, we were out & about, walking, travelling, etc; and as I’d installed a new game, I was going to bed late too. Thanks hyperfocus 😉 and yet I was not as tired as I’ve been this week. Most odd. From Monday onwards, I was turning in at around 10pm most nights as I couldn’t keep my eyes open. What is it about the nature of modern work that has this effect? The lad done good In family news – no, autocorrect, not infamy news 😜 “Eee, it’s them Jones troublemakers and there acceptance and bloomin’ kindness. B*stards!” […]

Dress Size Roulette

Hi, How’s things? Hopefully good for you. I’m going to apologise in advance if today’s post jumps all over the place. My thoughts feel like a swarm of butterflies and words focus hard. 🙂 Deep breaths, Lynn…. To be unhurried Due to carrying over some holiday leave and a need to use it up before the deadline, I found myself with an extra day off. This both shortens the week, extends the weekend, and gives me that feeling of a No Rush Weekday. I’m not going to complain about the morning routine because I’ve no issues with it. I guess it’s like the difference between making yourself breakfast and having someone else do it for you. The former’s not a […]

What you already have

Hi, One of those inbetweenie weeks this time around. Well, I guess you could argue that’s every week when you’re an somewhat in-between genderfluid person. 🙂 McTwitch Due to me not checking my prescription properly, I ran out of anti-anxiety meds at the start of the week. Oopsie! I quite enjoyed feeling like I had a little less brain fog and I wondered if I was okay to just gently drift through the Christmas holidays. While, thankfully, I didn’t have the biting return of the Panic Goblins, I very much had a spell via McTwitch, as my flight drive kicked in, while I was fixing the printer. Yeah, so no great shakes – no pun intended – and a gentle […]

The one I forgot to give a title to

Hi, Praise be to the four day week. That and a good night out with friends. I am going to apologise in advance around this evening’s post. In an act of solidarity around the Ever Lovely Mrs J’s health, I switched to alcohol free beer sometime early last year. A shout-out to Big Drop if this is also your bag. I don’t think I’ve had a beer with alcohol since Wee Man’s birthday in mid 2022…. Perhaps unsurprisingly, having such a long break has honed my lightweight skills to perfection 🤭 Yass By lucky happenstance an email popped into my inbox offering an extra discount due to the new King. What have the royalty ever done for us eh? 😁 […]

Loopy

Hi, This may be a mixed bag in terms of a post. Feel free to skip to the bits you’d rather read. Dark humour Recently the Jones family watched the film Nobody. With no spoilers, there’s an excellent (IMO) montage of the lead character’s family life: wake, coffee, jog, bus, spreadsheet, home, sleep, etc. I had a wry chuckle to myself wondering how many of us have similar routines that we run through? I guess mine would be wake, school run, laptop, lunch, dog walk, school run, tea, telly/game, and bed. I guess there’s some outliers in that of Thursday night out and Friday night waffle. I still struggle to call this writing. If I was any good at programming, […]
