TDoV 2021

Hi, On March 31st each year it’s the international Transgender Day of Visibility. Unlike the day of remembrance later in the year, today is a today to talk about the achievements of our community. I think it is worth noting that to those of you on the transgender spectrum and allies as well, have a moment to reflect on your achievements. I don’t say this to butter you up with false praise, but that small acts of kindness and perhaps more than ever this year, being present is a form of activism. Equally, if you are helping someone else – be they trans, a friend of someone, or a would-be ally – you are doing excellent work. It all counts […]

Lessons Learned: Part V – Being Okay

Hi, If I look back to the memories of the emotions I had when i started this blog, I was very much up and down about my dressing. Okay, mostly down which was not a good thing. Getting by with occasional dressing before work, frantically clearing away all signs, sneaking time to buy things, and trying to live in just one gender. Moments snatched in a busy life and feelings of shame or guilt around who I was. Not a rollercoaster ride I would recommend. Binaries

Hi, Every now and then, the journaling app I use, tries to sell me a few extras. There’s no adverts in the actual application because I’m happy to pay a small monthly sum for backup and suchlike. The optional extras only appear when you go looking in the coaching or life goals areas. With that in mind, this popped up: Mornings are extremely important as they are the foundation from which the day is built on. Is it time?

Hi, How has this week gone for you? Here at Jones Towers we’ve been off work (in a lovely way) more than we’ve been at work. A two day working week? Ooo, it was a struggle! 🙂 Indeed coming back to work wasn’t as tricky as usual. Perhaps the lack of a commute nor having to hustle the kids through the school run keeps us all a little calmer. That said, I have been finding things somehow more frustrating. I am hoping it’s just a momentary episode of Grumpy Dad Syndrome rather than a byproduct of zero Lynn time. It’s the little things like you just do all the laundry and what feels like a moment later, the washing basket […]

Don’t make eye contact

Hi, With a bit of luck, the Jones Crew will be working our way around Europe on our summer holiday. The thing is, I find that as I’m getting a little older, I worry a little more about the What If. of it all. What if we miss our flight? What if the hotel we’ve booked is closed? Just, well, silly worries really. As the Ever Lovely Mrs J would say, you only have to do one step. All we need to do is get to the hotel down south. Then, just be up on time to get to the airport, and so on and so on. I do my best to listen, but it’s not always easy. Perhaps it’s […]
