Binaries

Hi, Every now and then, the journaling app I use, tries to sell me a few extras. There’s no adverts in the actual application because I’m happy to pay a small monthly sum for backup and suchlike. The optional extras only appear when you go looking in the coaching or life goals areas. With that in mind, this popped up: Mornings are extremely important as they are the foundation from which the day is built on. How we choose to spend our mornings will influence how our days will be like so start your day right! I have a bit of an issue with that pitch. It’s not wrong per se, although I think that’s a view of the world…. […]

Is it time?

Hi, How has this week gone for you? Here at Jones Towers we’ve been off work (in a lovely way) more than we’ve been at work. A two day working week? Ooo, it was a struggle! 🙂 Indeed coming back to work wasn’t as tricky as usual. Perhaps the lack of a commute nor having to hustle the kids through the school run keeps us all a little calmer. That said, I have been finding things somehow more frustrating. I am hoping it’s just a momentary episode of Grumpy Dad Syndrome rather than a byproduct of zero Lynn time. It’s the little things like you just do all the laundry and what feels like a moment later, the washing basket […]

Don’t make eye contact

Hi, With a bit of luck, the Jones Crew will be working our way around Europe on our summer holiday. The thing is, I find that as I’m getting a little older, I worry a little more about the What If. of it all. What if we miss our flight? What if the hotel we’ve booked is closed? Just, well, silly worries really. As the Ever Lovely Mrs J would say, you only have to do one step. All we need to do is get to the hotel down south. Then, just be up on time to get to the airport, and so on and so on. I do my best to listen, but it’s not always easy. Perhaps it’s […]

The Second Train

Hi, Over in the Chameleons milabox, we recently received an email from a media company, TellyJuice, about a short documentary they’d made. Usually, media requests are for people to appear in a production, or take part in some reality TV production. The better ones – the education, the sensitive, etc – I post on the forum. The other stuff, welcome to /dev/null/ (Ed: for non-nerds, Lynn means the bin. Or t’bin if you’re proper North 🙂 ) So, this video, which may appear below if I can get the web code right, was very different. I found it moving, deeply personal, sensitive, and beautifully filmed. While it brought forth a tear, I think that was bittersweet: I was happy that they’d […]

Don’t frighten the horses

Hi, Being British it would be remiss of me not to mention the weather. 🙂 It has been unseasonably cold over the past few days, and this has resulted in Little Miss, Wee Man, and the Ever Lovely Mrs J being off for a few days at the end of the week. I had the good fortune to be at home at the same time, as I’d arranged to work from home. This was so I could wait in for a delivery, but by dumb luck, not one but two arrived. I had also hoped to try and break in some new heels that I’d ordered before half-term. However, a house full of my lovely family put that idea to bed! […]
