A little respect

Hi, The other day I was browsing Reddit and I happened to hit on a re captioned 60s comic image, or as the cool kids are saying these days: a meme. 😉 The image to your right isn’t it, but one I’ve tweaked as it feels a bit more trans positive. The other was one of those dramatic head-in-your-hands poses… oh, and 50 underwear which I felt might tip us towards the racy side of things and that’s not where I’m headed with this. Like a lot of things in life there’s a certain level of randomness – or synchronicity – about blogging. So it was that an article floated by about certain political parties trying to ‘protect children’ from […]

Future Retro

Hi, Back in ’05 Calie, over at T-Central, has been running a retro week, and these have been posts pulled from some of the featured blogs. Anyhoo, Calie was kind enough to ask if I was okay with having a post from 2005 being featured. Wow, 2005: how much has changed since then? That’s before the whole smartphone/tablet arrival, while we still had a Labour government, and before Little Miss was born. Quite a different time! From a personal/trans point of view, I thought I’d have a look at what I wrote and comment on my original thoughts. People change, after all. The question will be in bold and my original answer will be in italics. If you fancy a […]

The Trans Rollercoaster

Hi, Last week I was checking through my RSS feed of blogs and checked to see what the good folk over at T-Central had been up to. If you’ve not been over, the site is worth checking out. They not only keep a long list of trans blogs, but they also do a feature post. Usually, posting a link to a trans blog article that’s a thought provoking read. They also link to those who’ve just been babbling away to themselves (here and here). 😉 Anyhoo, on Saturday, I spotted a link to a post called the Slippery Slope, which was written by Nadine. It’s not the first time I’ve heard those words. Not from the My Husband Betty books, but […]

“No one said it was gonna be easy.”

Hi, How’s things? Hopefully not too taxing. I am, like a lot of IT folk, on LinkedIn. Or, more accurately, my male ID certainly is. My, wouldn’t having a single social media presence that combined what really went on, be both a) incredibly boring and b) a surprise to some people. 🙂 Truthbook: Today Richard spent the afternoon looking for a new job, while thinking about the new nail polish he saw in Boots. Then went he home, read to the kids, had tea and cut the grass. #Rock&Roll  Moving on….. 🙂 As you well know, social media has lots of memes, and LinkedIn is no different. Well, other than they can be a bit corporate doublespeak. Lifehacker – which […]

“The future us already here. It’s just unevenly distributed.”

Hi folks, It’s Friday night again and it being February, Winter is giving us a last hurrah before the gentler turn of Spring. Except this time around, Winter’s invited its best mates High Tide and Climate Change to the party…. and they’ve all been watching Changing Rooms with Keith Moon. This is not going to end well. 🙂 Floods Glib comments aside, it’s not to bad here. Yes, the wind and the rain are rather strong, but by no means are the Jones Massive – nor any of our clan – bailing out, or having to be evacuated due to flooding. I know it’s very British to talk about the weather, but there are times when there’s a point, rather […]
