Give it space

Hi, Last night’s online meeting went from When Shall We Three Meet Again to the Fab Four. Despite occasional WiFi snags and some interface issues, a group of us got together for an hour or so. While talking through a headset isn’t quite the same as meeting up, it helps, and the shared laughter raises the spirits. I should add that that’s not in a necromantic and/or demonic manner. Can an atheist be possessed? 🤔 Part of the conversation turned to writing, or more accurately blogging, if there’s a difference. Okay, I’ll be open and say while putting thoughts on – uhhh – digital paper is the act of writing, I don’t consider what I do, at least, as writing. […]

A look back – August

Hi, So, midway through 2020, huh? How many shopping days until Christmas and when will Easter Eggs be available? 😛 As another month rolls by in a cycle of rinse and repeat home office malarkey. Shall we flick through the YATGB photo album? 🙂 In 19 that pretty top was a hand-me-down from the Ever Lovely Mrs J. I struggle a bit with picking a pattern, but the monochrome on this is something I love. I notice that jeans and leggings feature quite heavily this time of year. They’re one way to not get too hot and also hide the Wookie pins. 😉 Taking of jeans, I really don’t like those straight leg ones in 11. That may explain why […]

Gentle Reminders

Hi, While fumbling through the posts of yesteryear for a look back at August, I bumped into a few memories. One and not a good one by the look of it was from the early 2010s. It was clearly – at least clear with 20/20 hindsight 🙂 – an episode of a visit if the Black Dog. As much as the words in that old post are mine, I’ve no recollection of that day and perhaps that’s a good thing. I also know I’m free of that particular…. curse? condition? So reasons to be cheerful as the great man once said. So memory is a funny thing. Not just because my is all over the place, but in the words […]

Converse

Hi, So, no midweek post on Wednesday. In truth, I forgot what day it was and I think sometimes it’s good to take a break from the routine now and then. Oh, and a note of thanks to those of you who commented or emailed in. That was kind of you, so thanks ♥️ Over lockdown I’ve tried to set up virtual meetings for Chams folk and it’s generally a dedicated few who log in. It’s not been on for the last fortnight due to holidays and whatnot. Thursday night was the first time in a while to get together. Well, virtually speaking. I was surprised how just listening and talking with other T folk – Midnight plus a special […]

The Tide

Is it Sunday morning or Saturday night? It’s certainly later that Friday night and the clockwork post. Tick tock. Friday came…. and went. A scene plays out in my head. I feel the sea of emotions rise and swell, rolling me, and I try to steady my course. It is dark and while I can feel the wind and the spray, proverbially speaking, the big waves, remain lost in the gloom of what might be. I will not go overboard and I will not drown. I am not lost at sea, but…. I am tired. Tired of holding the wheel. Tired of the same course each week give or take. I need to get out of this storm. Get out […]

The Shift

Hi, There are times when I come to write something, that it feels like driving in fog. A glimpse through the mist on what I was looking for, only for it to slip from view, appearing only when I stop looking. But, maybe it’s my age 😉 This weekend gone the Jones Crew had the pleasure of not just a day out, but a meal in a restaurant. I know, I almost say it in a hushed tone. 😁 A country pub miles from anywhere and while not a usual haunt, certainly a place we’ve enjoyed in the past. With social distancing in place, there were slightly less tables available, but we know it can get busy, so booking was […]
