Hi, I’m not one for a midweek post, but today, I think I’ll make an exception. Ten years to this day, I started this blog. 2own OCTOBER 2005 So, welcome to my little spot of the t’interweb – soon to be filled with occasional guff and nonsense. I’ll be straight with you (heh – straight*) I’m curious as to how long I can keep this blog thing going. Will it disappear by the end of the year or take longer than that? Hmmm… we’ll see. [ * note to self, don’t laugh at your own jokes – it’s naff. ] One small step for a trans person. One, more upload of guff to the Interwebs. 🙂 Looking back to 2005, […]

Planning

Hi, In an effort to get a little more exercise, and to get our two lovely dogs to be a bit calmer, in the evenings, I took them out on a walk through the local countryside. Sure, we may not have a regular bus service, any local shop and the Internet connectivity could be a little zippier. But, the scenery sure is nice. Nothing but fields, rolling hills and woodland. Yay for autumn. Cool weather, the leaves begin to turn and we begin the slow trip through monthly celebrations, as we move to Christmas. All, reasons to be thankful. The wood now has had a new public footpath put in, so we’re legally free to wander through, and down across […]

Tick tock, tick tock

Hi, Last week, another year on the clock. Oh, don’t mention clocks: this could be a terror threat. 🙂 I did wonder, skipping back those *cough* 40 odd *cough* years ago. What was it like for my parents? Okay obvious joke, probably agony for one of them 😉 Did my Dad rush in from work, or had he been there since the start of labour? I may have to ask. Skip on a few years, and a remember visiting my Mum, after my little sister was born. I also remember Dad taking us to the local toy shop (there were two in our little town). For some reason, he bought my sister and I toys. How this helps to adjust […]

Nine years later

Hi, Once more into the Blogger interface, dear friends, once more. I could continue to torture that fine piece of English writing, but probably best not too. 🙂 Holiday I’ve missed a week, given that the Jones Massive were away on a much loved holiday. A week away over half-term, somewhere up north and on the coast. Very windy, rainy and somewhat cold to boot, but that didn’t put us off. I over pack for Thursday, so we’re not short of coats and waterproofs. However, my T powers must have been a little off, because the Ever Lovely Mrs J had to nip in and by some extra scarfs and gloves for us all. Still, brief periods of horizontal rain […]

“The future us already here. It’s just unevenly distributed.”

Hi folks, It’s Friday night again and it being February, Winter is giving us a last hurrah before the gentler turn of Spring. Except this time around, Winter’s invited its best mates High Tide and Climate Change to the party…. and they’ve all been watching Changing Rooms with Keith Moon. This is not going to end well. 🙂 Floods Glib comments aside, it’s not to bad here. Yes, the wind and the rain are rather strong, but by no means are the Jones Massive – nor any of our clan – bailing out, or having to be evacuated due to flooding. I know it’s very British to talk about the weather, but there are times when there’s a point, rather […]

The Wrong Side of History

Hi, Well, how was your Christmas? I hope you had a pleasant one and that all went well. This year, we had somehow managed to duck much of the travelling and instead, the extended Jones Clan came to our little house. I could have said …on the prairie, but moor would be closer. 🙂 We are far enough out of civilisation to be in werewolf country, but at least it keeps the door-to-door sales people on their toes. So we swapped travel for the frenzied activity of cooking and preparing enough food. Honestly, I need to think about cutting down. Not only did I get a new postcode for Xmas, but I no longer feel safe swimming in case there […]
