Hi, Well, what a great night last night was. Somehow, it all came together, and we had a grand old time. There was much laughter, plenty of smiles, sharing food & drink, plus dancing, and, well, being there for each other. I had, perhaps somewhat pointlessly, been worrying about making the Chams Christmas Party just so. I don’t know if it was because it was our last meeting of the year, or if I just wanted our lovely lot to get a good night as all of themselves. Hi, You know those days, or even weeks, where nothing seems to go right? Well, I’ve had the good fortune that it’s been quite the opposite. Is this vintage yet? After decades on the information not-so-super B road, fast broadband is finally coming to our neck of the woods! At Chez Jones, we’re rather excited about this, so fingers crossed it all goes well on installation day next month. The kids pretty much stream everything they watch these days, and on to tablets, rather than the telly. Decade: then and now

Hi, Sometime last week, I was looking through old family photos. I rather enjoy seeing how the kids have grown up, and also remembering the holidays, trips out, or just general silliness, that, to me at least, go to make up your family history. A shared experience if you will. On a whim, I had a look at my stash of trans photos. Now, I don’t like having my photo taken. Or, more accurately, I don’t really like my photo being taken when I’m in Richard mode. Hi, These last few days have been a bit of a blur. That rushed loop of wake, eat, school run, work, sarnie, work, commute, tea, breath, Netflix and bed. In other times I’d have found that routine stifling, almost a treadmill. Yet, this month, it’s been a familiar comfort. Perhaps, I am drifting, but I tell myself that the want of excitement, distraction or fun is not regular. They’re the occasional peaks and without the mundane, or even the lows, there can be no peaks. With Autumn’s golden colours across the trees, I had a pleasant walk and a talk with Andrea. Hi, We’re a few weeks into the new year. Have you given up on your resolutions yet? Not that I’d judge you, that would be rude. 🙂 Plus, I’ve not set any. I’m going to carry on the following ideas from last year. Firstly, making a note of good things that happen, and pop these notes in my Memory Jar. That’s going reasonably well, and it seems to encourage being grateful and/or concentrating on the good stuff, rather than the bad. The other one is not getting angry about work. Hi, Larks, it’s a bit late. Still, that’s the penalty for staying up, to watch a film with Little Miss. Usually, she’s tucked up in bed before 9, but tonight, being a Friday, we’ve let her stay up a little. Mind you, she’s another year old – 8 now – and full of character.
