Hi, Nearly a month off over the festive period and then a full five day week back at work? What could possibly go wrong! 😉 I think I have become rather comfortable with getting up for nine, having a leisurely stroll, late breakfast, and the all important afternoon nap. So yeah, energy levels are not great at the mo. Hi, Did you have a good New Year’s Eve? Well, as per our Christmas, it was a quiet one – and that’s just how we like it at Chez Jones. The Ever Lovely Mrs J was keen to point out that in her view, I’m the social one of the house, which – frankly – I find somewhat worrying 😉 In truth, it’s been quiet this week with plenty of time spent walking the dogs, enjoying a late breakfast at various cafes, afternoon naps, and then hobby time. Hello dear reader, Did you have a good festive break? I hope so. If not, I’ll cross my fingers for some good luck to come your way. Theme If I had to pick a word to describe 2024, I think it would be steady. Yes, there’s been a few ups and downs across the year, but it would be dull otherwise 🙂 On positive view, the Ever Lovely Mrs J’s health remains, well, steady – certainly no worse. Hi, Hear that? That’s the ticking of the clock counting down to my last working day before the Xmas holidays. It feels quite the luxury to have a long Christmas break, and that’s down to building up unused leave during the year. Perhaps my New Year’s Resolution will be to keep an eye on using my leave and have more regular breaks. Still, a long break at Christmas? Top banana! Hi, Another Friday, another blog post! 🙂 Comfort & Joy A few days back I happened to fall upon the article What does the tightness of our clothes say about our emotions? which chimed given my love of winter, hygge (“who guh“), and leaning into my I’m-not-mesh-I’m-wrapped-up-nicely-thank-you nature. Being a 50 something bloke, you’ll not be seeing me in sports leggings, skinnies*, or a fitted top – not with my ‘shape’.
