Hi,
Did you have a good New Year’s Eve? Well, as per our Christmas, it was a quiet one – and that’s just how we like it at Chez Jones.
The Ever Lovely Mrs J was keen to point out that in her view, I’m the social one of the house, which – frankly – I find somewhat worrying 😉
In truth, it’s been quiet this week with plenty of time spent walking the dogs, enjoying a late breakfast at various cafes, afternoon naps, and then hobby time. For me, that’s gaming or tweaking my mod list. For Mrs J it’s reading and Child 2.0 does a bit of both.

I think it’s Chams next week and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Other than that, not much to report and perhaps that’s a good thing.

Sometimes, ‘no news is good news’ . Thank you for your posts. Best wishes for the New Year.
Hi Vivien. Yes, very much that! To -ahem- not live in interesting times 😉
Hope you had a good festive break, BTW.
We had a quiet New Year’s Eve as well, but somehow very satisfying, giving a little time to think back on 2024 and look forward to 2025…. I would like to wish you and your family the very best for the New Year…..
Good to hear you had a quiet and enjoyable one, Andrea. Good luck for 2025
Happy New Year, Lynn.
That all sounds pretty good to me. I had a noisy New Year’s Eve but it made up for the previous quiet time.
Challenge for 2025: can you think of a polite and sensitive way of letting that mouse know that she has a rodent problem … ?

A happy new year to you as well, Sue.
I’m thinking that they are library mice, so will be helping sort books, clean, and be helpful. You know, in the same way that real world rodents aren’t 😉
Happy New Year to you and the Joneses.
A quiet New Year as usual. We would normally stay up at least for Jools Holland Hootenanny but it’s becoming annoyingly formulaic and this year’s selection was uninspiring so we retired early.
Mrs Rat looks to be in a good place. No pressure (although AI doesn’t seem to have figured out which way the numbers should go on that dial- or how to spell ‘PRESSURE’ for that matter) and surrounded by books.
Thanks Susie and wishing you good luck for the year ahead.
Yes, the hootenanny was somewhat mixed, but isn’t that always the case? What I mean is, the variety – or not – of the acts (or ‘turns’ as dear old Lilly Savage would say). The Boomtown Rats did a good performance, IMO.
We did catch the 2024 version of Top of the Pops and that reminded me why I don’t watch such shows. Mainly as it seems waiting for stuff you don’t like to finish, only to see a glimpse of something you like to zip by in a summary.
Maybe like music shows of the past – yes, kids, I’m going to mention actual/literal video tape 😉 – it’s best to watch them at the event, so you can skip through the stuff you don’t like.
Well spotted on the AI artwork. The common tells (usual suspects? 🙂) of too many fingers/limbs and/or gobbledygook alphanumerics.
Then again, maybe it’s basing the latter on my spelling 😁
Happy New Year !
Glad you had a nice Christmas – did you treat yourself to any new games ?
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Chams 🙂
Izzy
A happy new year to you as well, Izzy. I hope you had a good break over the festive holidays.
New games? Yeah, I bought the Jackbox Party Game which is a set of mini games we could all play together. Oh, and I set up new mods and a new play through on Skyrim too. How about you or were you arm deep under the bonnet? 🙂
As to Chams: yes, very much looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. Hope you’ll be able to make it.
