Not so much back to black

Hi, Am I glad it was pay day! The Jones Massive have nearly completely the Christmas shopping – yay, Interwebz! – and we will soon be moving on to the wrapping. By all that’s unholy, the mountain of wrapping… Yes, I know it’s not yet December, but we start early. Mainly to spread out the cost and also to avoid the seasonable comedy mess ups and risks of: I’m not sure what I want  The well loved (!) I’d quite like so-and-so, which you can’t get in the shops, or on-line.  Nothing really…. Thanks, very helpful! 🙂 Spending each morning at the Post Office, queueing for a recorded delivery that has hidden itself at the back of the sorting office. […]

The Wrong Side of History

Hi, Well, how was your Christmas? I hope you had a pleasant one and that all went well. This year, we had somehow managed to duck much of the travelling and instead, the extended Jones Clan came to our little house. I could have said …on the prairie, but moor would be closer. 🙂 We are far enough out of civilisation to be in werewolf country, but at least it keeps the door-to-door sales people on their toes. So we swapped travel for the frenzied activity of cooking and preparing enough food. Honestly, I need to think about cutting down. Not only did I get a new postcode for Xmas, but I no longer feel safe swimming in case there […]

“Don’t you call me pudgy, portly or stout
Just now tell me once again…

Hey all, Guess I’ve faffed about enough on the interwebs (t’interwebs? #Northern) and I should get myself into gear. Hmmm. So much for that new exercise book feel to the New Year eh? Here I am, prattling away as per. 🙂 How was your Christmas? On Planet Jones, the big day went very well. The next few days, though, were rather busy with lots of too-ing and fro-ing as we did the visitor circuit. To be honest, I was glad of a sit down at the end of the week. That and the delight over deciding to book some extra holiday to extend the Christmas break. I’ve been enjoying the Christmas spirit – and the cakes, chocolates, dinners, etc – […]

“It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.”

Hi, Yes, I’m a day later than usual, but I have a good excuse; I was living it up on an Invasion night out. I could have gone with the dog ate my blog blog, but as the hound has her own Blogger account, what’s the chances of that? 🙂 For those of you who’ve still got a turkey to wrap and presents to stuff, I’ve prepared two versions of tonight’s post. Abridged Changing issues. Got fab. Had a truly great night out. Got home. Slept. Unabridged Good News from the War on Moping Not sure if I alluded to this in the last few posts, but in recent months, life – from a pro-celebrity miserablist point of view – […]

“Let’s have a toast a celebration get a glass out,
And we can do this until we pass out.”

Hello again dear reader, Compared to yesterday’s weather, which seems like a warm up for The End Times. today in dear old England, we’re blessed with a view of a beautiful blue sky. Well, Nottingham at least. Things to be cheerful about! Dare I say, all seems to be going fairly well at the moment; other than the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones being flat out with a rather nasty cold. With luck and a spot of rest, she should be okay for her graduation ceremony next week. Yes, Mrs J will soon be Doctor Jones…. and, yes, I’m very proud of her and no, I haven’t bought her a slightly crumpled hat and a whip either. 😉 Party? Already? Mais […]
