Daring to dream

Hey nonny nonny, another week goes by eh? 🙂 I don’t know why that particular phrase is in my head, but sometimes it’s best not to question why, and just get on with it.  What can you look forward to (!) in this week’s fun packed episode? 🙂 A bit on shopping (more chin stroking than purchasing), earrings and head hunting. Blogger Challenge The challenge this week was to talk about high end or high street. There’s a couple of reasons why I’m more high street than high end. I’m partly Scots, so the concept of paying a lot of money for something, that could be bought for less, rankles somewhat. 😉 At least, that’s the stereotype. I don’t think […]

Tea + biscuit = brain power?

Hi, After last time’s memory fail, I thought I’d sit down and get some ideas out of my head early on. I don’t know about you, but if I’m a bit tired, it’s the wrong time of day, or I’m hungry, my brain just seems to pack in – at least, from a creative angle. Okay, you could look back at those as a triumvirate of excuses, or I like to think that they’re things to be avoided if I want to Get On With Stuff. Making a Stand Given that, I made sure I had a good strong brew and a biccie – surely the fuel of the British! – before I got the Chameleons leaflet business sorted out. […]

A series of conflicting events

Hi, How’s things? It’s been the first week back at school for Wee Man and Little Miss. They took it pretty well and despite a little bit of grumbling from one of them, I think they both enjoyed catching up with their friends. As is the case with a new year, they both get a new teacher. Wee Man is now in the last class before he goes to secondary. Little Miss, is in her second year and I remember her teacher being a big hit with her brother. Said teacher, he’s…. what’s the best way to say this? He’s got that knack in getting kids really involved and keen to learn. Dare I say, it’s a joy to watch […]

“RSPC Everything”

Hi…… …. and a deep breath to relax. Hear that? That’s the end of the week. Not a particularly taxing one, but one that’s left myself and the Every Lovely Mrs J at Tired Station, waiting for the last train home. So……? Shop In the absence of Go Go Enhanced Gender Fun Time – a.k.a, cross dressing – I had a small shopping trip today. I spotted some cute shoes, well, cute IMO, at Dotty P’s and I felt the need to wander lonely as a chap through the rails of fancy female fashions. I guess in days gone by, I would have picked up a pair, looked about furtively and then scurried off to pay. I say this next bit with […]

“If you buy this record today,
It’s not true what the advertisements say,
Your life won’t be greatly improved.”

Hi, Being British, I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention today’s weather. 🙂 Yes, the shock and awe of a few flakes of snow and the country goes into a panic. 🙂 I honestly don’t know how we’d cope if we had proper snow. Namely, the levels of the white stuff that our far more northerly cousins – Canada, Finland, Norway, Russia, etc – get. Sure, it’s not been great in some parts of the country, but up here in the mild Midlands, it’s not so bad. Although we live out in the sticks, we’re lucky in that we live on a main road that gets enough traffic to squish the snow into slush. Dear Editor It’s not […]

“Don’t you call me pudgy, portly or stout
Just now tell me once again…
who’s fat”

Hey all, Guess I’ve faffed about enough on the interwebs (t’interwebs? #Northern) and I should get myself into gear. Hmmm. So much for that new exercise book feel to the New Year eh? Here I am, prattling away as per. 🙂 How was your Christmas? On Planet Jones, the big day went very well. The next few days, though, were rather busy with lots of too-ing and fro-ing as we did the visitor circuit. To be honest, I was glad of a sit down at the end of the week. That and the delight over deciding to book some extra holiday to extend the Christmas break. I’ve been enjoying the Christmas spirit – and the cakes, chocolates, dinners, etc – […]
