“In the satisfaction stakes,
It’s like sitting on the number nine bus”

Hi, So, last week on sick leave before I go back to work. It’s been different being off it physically, but with it mentally. What I mean is, when you’re ill, like with flu or a bad stomach, your brain is a little all over the place while your body attempts to get over the situation. This time around, despite an amount of ‘ow’, I am fairly with it, so it’s been good in that I’ve been able to catch up on reading and enjoy life in the slow lane. Taking the dog out for a few long walks – well, at least when it wasn’t chucking it down – and it’s been good being home when the kids come back […]

“Can we all slow down and enjoy right now,
Guarantee we’ll be feelin’ alright.”

Hi everyone (including Coconut-Men, Moon-heads and P.) I guess you can say I’m very much back in the saddle… and much as it’s well worn and familiar, there’s a significant reticence in wanting to do so. I think the best I can say is I was at work physically. 🙂 How was the holiday? Glad you asked. 🙂 Oh, and thanks for the well wishes BTW. Two fantastic weeks somewhere in the Med with no mobile telephones, computers or work. Just me, the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones and both nippers. Wee Man’s swimming has come on so much. It was a joy to see him swimming out into the sea (Ed: and making it back). Little Miss, well, she’s as […]

“Get up, come on get down with the sickness”

Hi, How’s things? Seems I’ve been at home more than I’ve been at work week. Mind you, is that really a bad thing? 🙂 Little Miss wasn’t 100%, so I was house husband / caring dad for a few days. It was rather nice, even if she’s now spread the love. Ah well. 🙂 That probably explains why I went to Chams in bloke mode. Funny, I had been looking forward to going and I’d had a few thoughts on outfits. Yet, when push came to shove, I’d sort of lost interest. That’s one the great things about going out regularly; the fact that I know there will be other times. Besides, I’ve got some more leave to take before […]

Summertime

Summertime for trans folk is a strange time. You would think it’s all floaty dresses, smooth pins and fancy wedges. What could be more transtastic than all that? Hmmm. Well, summertime is an odd time. It’s a time when The Urge – to use a highly technical term – just seems to fade away. It doesn’t go completely – hell, I still double take when walking past Dotty P’s summer collection – but it does seem to abate. Last week P. asked if I was going out to Notts, but truthfully, I wasn’t really interested. This weekend is also the monthly meeting of the girls at Leicester, and to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost […]

Sometimes, it’s great to be a man….

In an effort to post something a bit more upbeat than the last two entries…. Oh, but before you read on, if you don’t like kids – skip on to paragraph two. 🙂 Family Guys I’ve had a good weekend with just P. and our little lad (LL). Today was a trip to a local park and we played for ages on the swings + slides. Fun for all the family! Yesterday, he and I went shopping for P. He was good as gold all the way around the shops despite me dragging him all around town through umpteen shops. That can’t be easy when you’re nearly 3, but he braved it like a good ‘un. After three… ‘bless’ 🙂 […]
