Changes

Hi, You probably know that I answer the emails and keep an eye on the forum, for Chameleons. In the last two years or so, I’ve noticed a change -if you pardon the pun – in who contacts the group. Yes, a lot of our number are regular crossdressers (/waves), although we’re seeing a gradual diversification. Questions from women who identify as men, and also from younger people too. Okay, mostly teenagers, but still, I think we’re, and to steal a well-known headline, reaching at a tipping point. It seems, well, at least to me, that the trans elements of society are making themselves known earlier. They are speaking up and early. I still see conservative types who are trying […]

Breaking the dry spell

Hi, This, is very much the life. I’ve had the luxury of a week off at home. I appreciate that may sound sarcastic, and in many ways, that’s my default tone. One of continual dry humour, but honestly, the Jones Family Staycation (apologies for anyone who dislikes portmanteaus), worked rather well. It’s not often you do the tourist thing in your local city. We’ve visited some ruins, been on long walks in the woods, had some very nice lunches out and risked a family day out, ice skating. Me and sport go together like ham and bicycle clips. But, you do your best and try not to break anything, when you fall over. I’ve worn some, shall we say, impractical […]

Happy heart

Hi, I don’t know about you good people, but the long Easter Weekend was very kind to me. Plenty of time away from work and with my family. A few long walks in the woods (always a joy to see our dog bounding around) and some time for Wee Man & Little Miss to climb trees, or clamber about on old logs. Oh, there was even a productive visit to Ikea and a chance to clear up Little Miss’s room. She does like to keep her room tidy. I think she manages this by keeping toys and colouring books in the kitchen, living room and anywhere but her room. 🙂 Still, a brief chuck-out session, some serious hoovering and some […]

Daring to dream

Hi, It’s been a somewhat odd day today. To start with, it’s a holiday weekend for the UK and given where I work, I get an extra day on Tuesday. Talk about a long weekend… and not that I’m complaining. 🙂 The Ever Lovely Mrs J, myself and our two nippers had gone into town to get new school shoes for the kids. While we were there, we stopped off at a bookshop. Yeah, I know you can get books cheaper on-line, but I still think there’s a lot to be said about being able to browse the books, see the stalls and sit down for a read before you buy. Yeah, I do own a Kindle and yes, I […]

Looking forward

Hi, How was Christmas? I hope you had a good festive break. I hesitate to use the word ‘holiday’, on the grounds that the rush up the the big day, seems anything but. With all the present buying, wrapping, food prep and visits; I’m glad of the down time period between then and New Years. Not that we get up to much at New Year’s. In days of old, the Ever Lovely Mrs J and I would go to an alt rock club in town, but that must be nearly 20 years ago now. I’m 40+ and I’m not careful, my waist will soon match my age. 🙂 So year, I’m quite happy to stay at home, get the kids […]

A gift of calmness

Hi, This morning I was late in for work, as I had an appointment at the local doctors’ surgery. Nothing serious mind, which is all good news. I was due to see said health profession at 9.30, which gave me half an hour to kill, after dropping Little Miss off at school. Wee Man has been away all this week and while there was a brief moment of ‘….and relax…’ as there was only one bedtime routine to do, I have missed him and the place wasn’t the same without him. Far too quiet and a distinct lack of family banter. Where was I? Oh aye, post-school run. 🙂 With 30 minutes on my hands, I could have gone home […]
