“A life to call our own,
That is ours alone,
Is as hard as hell to come by these days.”

Hi, The Past The other day, over on ‘Straightbook’ a friend request popped into my inbox. It was from an old school mate. Now, I’ve probably used up my quotient of ironic quote-marks. If I had any more, I guess they’d be around the word mate. 😉 I was a little thrown by this and me being me, I was in a bit of a spot over to accept or not. Seems silly now I look back. Not so much the outing that happened back then, but more me taking the time to consider accepting. I guess I was thinking forgive & forget but at the same time, I was worried that if I did, would he have another pop at outing me again? […]

“If ever I would stop thinking about music and politics”

Or more accurately, gender politics….. not that I’m particularly politically active. I guess I’m just not 100% content with the current two party system. 🙂 Sh**! I’m the LibDem option of gender! 🙂 Too late to say hi? Hello, it is then. It has been a rather eventful week and pretty much all in a good way. Well, mostly, but we’ll come to that later on. Stop Press! After last week’s dysphoric disco of distress I would like to report that I had a very good day today. That may not mean much in the great scheme of life, but to Yours Truly, it means a great deal. There was no rush to school – it’s the Easter holidays – and the […]

“Okay, let’s get down to it boppers.”

Hi folks, Another week, another post….. but a different week to the usual. “Laugh it up, fuzz ball.” Hmmm. It’s seems we are caught in the midst of a film quote-a-thon and for that, I can only apologise. Glib comments aside, this Monday saw me take the stage and perform stand-up for the first time. Well, I say first time, I’ve been laughed at in public before, but that’s just part of growing up trans, right? 🙂 This time, it was with rather than at, which made a nice change. Was it scary? Hell yeah. Was it fun? Hell yeah! The event itself was down in Leicester and that added a slight strange turn to events, as most of my visits to […]

“Eleven. Exactly. One louder.”

Howdy folks, The other day, Sam was kind enough to tag me with Liebster Award thingy for blogs. Thanks, Mrs! Apparently, there are a few rules to this little game and they are as follows: Create a new blog post similar to this one. Start off by writing 11 random facts about yourself, and then answer 11 questions which were left for you by your nominator.   Then you can nominate up to 11 blogs and leave 11 questions for them to answer in return.   Don’t forget to link back to the blog of the owner who nominated you! Create a new post like this one? Check. Well, the link back to Sam’s blog is easy enough (and really, if […]

“It’s a nice day for a white wedding”

Hi folks, Ooookay. Let’s hammer at the keys to pepper the white space with a series of letters. 🙂 I think it was around four-ish, that I commented on Facebook, that the Well of Blog Ideas was a little dry at that time. Which, then, was true. As often happens, unless I’ve got something up my proverbial sleeve, or some news to share, I do have to fall back to actually thinking about what I want to write about. Yes, shocking as it may seem, there is a plan to this ol’ blog. No, really. 🙂 Mawwiage Or so said Peter Cook’s character in The Princess Bride. This week saw the first round of voting in the UK on allowing […]

“I’m on my way from misery to happiness today”

Hi, Come on brain, wakey wakey, it’s time for another blog post. Ah, perhaps leaving this week’s post until so late in the day – and after a late night – was not such a good idea. Okay. Note to self: prepare before hitting the keyboard. Yes, I was out late last night. It was time for Chameleons, so it was off to the Centre to meet up with the great, the good and the gorgeous (luckily, most of my friends are all three). It was my first trans night out of the year and given that I’d missed the post Xmas do, it was good to catch up with folk. We chatted about how Christmas went, fun with in-laws […]
