Charging the batteries

Hi, These last few days have been a bit of a blur. That rushed loop of wake, eat, school run, work, sarnie, work, commute, tea, breath, Netflix and bed. In other times I’d have found that routine stifling, almost a treadmill. Yet, this month, it’s been a familiar comfort. Perhaps, I am drifting, but I tell myself that the want of excitement, distraction or fun is not regular. They’re the occasional peaks and without the mundane, or even the lows, there can be no peaks. With Autumn’s golden colours across the trees, I had a pleasant walk and a talk with Andrea. We don’t work too far apart, so meeting up for a tea and a stroll is one of […]

Thankful

Hi, In a moment of madness I had a spot of tidying up. Not a purge, dear reader, but a clearance of clutter to dispel the debris. Or, as is sometimes said in Nottingham: getting shot of yer crap. 🙂 While clearing my bedside table, I found a small tin that contains a set of cuff links from long ago. Much as said items have some sentimental value, there’s a little more to it. Going back to the late 90s, I used to have a large travel trunk. I felt the need to use the term ‘travel trunk’ to avoid any smutty laughter about the size of my trunk, or if it’s well handled, etc. Yes, Carry on Blogging, by […]

The Cat Paradox

Hello dear reader, Today has been a gift. If you will, a bright gem within the regular mud of routine. To start off, I met with Andrea, one of the Chams Massive, who doesn’t work too far from me. We met up, had a tea and a chat, then a stroll around the grounds, talking about this, that and the other. Mostly gender / trans stuff, in between trying to help with a lost dog. I think, – no, not the lost dog element – that being able to talk with someone who’s on a similar wavelength, is one of the (many) good things about the trans community. You don’t need to have your guard up, around what topics of […]

Just about 10 years ago

Hi, We’re a few weeks into the new year. Have you given up on your resolutions yet? Not that I’d judge you, that would be rude. 🙂 Plus, I’ve not set any. I’m going to carry on the following ideas from last year. Firstly, making a note of good things that happen, and pop these notes in my Memory Jar. That’s going reasonably well, and it seems to encourage being grateful and/or concentrating on the good stuff, rather than the bad. The other one is not getting angry about work. In days gone by, we’d plan and we’d implement things. Some areas would not go well, because others (Ed: she means management) would either interfere, or refuse to adjust their […]

Slap

Hi, A late post from Yours Truly, as the school holidays are now under way for the Jones Massive. Both Wee Man and Little Miss have been in need of some down time. To be away from both the routine of early mornings and all day in a class room. They’re not the only one in need of a break too, the Ever Lovely Mrs J will, I’m sure, appreciate dodging the multiple bullets of half a work afternoon, the dash home to collect the kids and start the tea. Meanwhile, I’m still bashing the rocks together, at work, before crawling home in the evening traffic. Not, that I’m complaining, the commute could be a lot worse and I do […]

Learning to walk

Hi, Over the last few years of answering emails for Chameleons, there are a few questions, that pop up regularly. One of them is around dress. Perhaps, not unusual for a group of cross-dressing people. But flippancy aside, a question about being judged when dressed. What do others wear? What should I wear? I’m new to all of this, everyone seems so together with their outfits, etc. I think it’s intimidating enough, visiting a new place, where you don’t know anyone. Chuck into the mix, that you’re worried that you’ll look like a mess, must just add to the stress. BTW, I should add that the Chams folk are very cool and laid back. We don’t judge. Well, provided you are […]
