“I’ve got no enthusiasm,
for burgers or computers”

Hello one and all, I shall be glad when this week is little but a memory. Not that it has been awful or scary, just one very long slog. It all started last week when my work computer – that’s at home – went pop. Yes, it’s an odd arrangement, in that the old kit that’s not recycled / broken up, ends up being used by employees for working remotely. Of course, the trouble with old equipment – regardless of brand – is that it can be a bit temperamental…. with emphasis on the temper and mental. I’ll try and keep the tale of IT Woe short. Let’s just say that I spent most evenings this week trying to get various bits […]

“Donald, where’s your troosers?”

Hi folks, I’m posting a bit later than usual as I’ve been messing around with the Facebook code within the blog. I guess I just got my geek on and got lost in the idea of finding out who was hitting the like option. Ho hum. Something for another day perhaps! Maybe it would just have been easier to ask, but never mind eh? 😉 Shop Earlier in the week I had the good fortune to finish a little earlier than usual. I’d gone to a customer site and having made a bit of progress on what the problem was (Ed: some IT thing. Just don’t ask, ‘k?), I wasn’t going to make it back to the office to do […]

“Don’t like to work, I just like to dream”

Hello one and all, So we’re the second week through the World Sports Day competitions. Team GB have done very well – or so I’ve heard via the news and chats with the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones. You know me and sport, walking is about my limit – maybe a bit of cycling – but watching it? Meh. Not that I’m not dead chuffed that our athletes have tried really hard. Anyways, with the sport being on and Wee Man’s new found enjoyment of computer games, I’ve been catching up on my reading. I think I’ve finished off three books and the reading’s been a pleasant break from the usual activities of web surfing, Facebooking, blogging and all round techno […]

“You can’t hide it you might as well embrace it.
So believe me it’s not easy.
It seems that something’s telling me…”

Hello again, Unlike last week’s Friday failure, I’m going to give myself a little more leeway by writing something up earlier in the day. If that’ll help improve the quality, well, it’s too early to tell 🙂 These last few days have been fairly quiet and as I’ve said before, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I don’t mind reading or watching drama, but given the choice, I’d rather avoid the less than jolly type. Oh, I suppose I should mention the Jubilee to keep this topical eh? Right, that’s that done. What else? 😉 Oh yes, the pre-Jubilee School Trip I went on, the kids sent thank you letters to the parents who helped keep an eye on them. I […]

“I got a reason for the devil inside you know”

Hi, How’s things with you? After last week’s not-much-is-going-on post, events have picked up a little. Home-life and family is going well, which is not to be underrated. Parents Evening will be upon us soon and if I can get an early pass from work, I’d like to pop along and see Wee Man’s work on show. Trans-wise, I saw some very nice shoe boots while out shopping with the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones. At twenty quid, I couldn’t really say no, so armed with the takings from my piggy bank, off I went. Luckily, said shop – or rather supermarket – had clothes for him & her as well as changing rooms. So it was a repeat of the […]

“I’ll escape if I try hard enough,
Till King of the Jungle calls my bluff”

Hi, How’s things? It seems the autumn weather is slowly starting to make itself known. There’s a little edge of the morning or lunchtime walk: do I or don’t I take the brolly with me? Plus, those warm mornings are gradually slipping away, not that you came here for a weather forecast 😉 Funny, even as a kid I found September as a bit of a turning point. It seemed to mark the change between the school holidays and the summer itself. It was – and indeed still is for me – a case that there’s something different in the air. Perhaps it’s just a change in the temperature, but I feel there’s more to it than that. Personally, I […]
