Little wins to big changes

Hi, A few months back I took the plunge and subscribed to a newspaper. Well, I say paper, it’s all very digital these days isn’t. Yes, I figured slowly back into the edges of things rather than be wholly out of the loop. Particularly as with the app, I can flick by (or block) opinion pieces and see less of the more… triggering articles and headlines. Today, this popped up about a ruling on an equality case. The judge – and I would recommend a full read before reading my twaddle 😉 – stated that gender was a spectrum and that they, the person in question, should be protected by the 2010 Equality Act. I felt this was rather good […]

Hot and cold

Hi, Crikey, it’s Wednesday already. I hope the half week has been kind to you. I’m conscious of the old advice that no good story starts off talking about the weather. But… 😉 We had a brief hot spell due to air from the tropics visiting our western European climes, but we’re now back to jeans and boots weather. On that note of the turning off the weather, so too does the Trans situation seem to be warming back up. With the shorts packed away until next year, I’ve plumbed to reach for the epilator and bring the old Wookie pins towards their should-be appearance. Well, IMO. 🤔 My jeans move differently against my skin and I’m reminded that – […]

Serendipity

Hi, Last night was the first meeting for Chameleons in around six months. For me, it was a night of mixed emotions… not too sound overly dramatic 😉 Meeting friends I’d not seen in half a year was great. Knowing that our plans to keep open brought the mood down a little. As I sat on my own at 745, I did wonder if it might just be myself and Val, but as time ticked by, there was around seven of us all in. The masks and the distance didn’t always help, but better slightly difficult conversation than none at all. As per Wednesday’s post, it felt a little like the door had slammed shut, just as we’d had a […]

Merry-go-round

Well, it seems Cinders will not go to the ball after next week. Yes, another change in the social rules by our dear leaders. But don’t call it another lockdown 😛 Remember: back to work, proles! 😉 As much as I understand it’s for the best, I’m a little frustrated given we were back on course to restart the group meetings. A number of our members were keen to see this restart, so we will have to make the best of it. At least we can manage a six month catch-up before it’s time to put things on hold again. L x

Binaries

Hi, Every now and then, the journaling app I use, tries to sell me a few extras. There’s no adverts in the actual application because I’m happy to pay a small monthly sum for backup and suchlike. The optional extras only appear when you go looking in the coaching or life goals areas. With that in mind, this popped up: Mornings are extremely important as they are the foundation from which the day is built on. How we choose to spend our mornings will influence how our days will be like so start your day right! I have a bit of an issue with that pitch. It’s not wrong per se, although I think that’s a view of the world…. […]

As far as you need to

Hi, Earlier in the school holidays, some of the Jones family headed off to one of those forest high ropes courses. Ah, the things you do as a parent to keep your kids entertained eh? 😉 Luckily, or perhaps, unusually, the British weather was dry and not too hot. The issues I have with the above – climbing activities that is, not our children 0or the weather 😁 – is twofold. Firstly, I’m okay on a dog walk, but if the Zombie Apocalypse requires a lot of clambering about, I’ll be in trouble, being somewhat of a duffer. 😉 Secondly, I’m not good with heights. There’s something about being high up that just does not do for me. Even in […]
