Lessons Learned: Part II

Hi, If, like I was as a kid, you’re not great with Roman numerals welcome to part eye eye 😉 Where were we? Oh yes, things learned along the way. Finding your style A key part of expressing who we are is how we dress. Even choosing not to be bothered about creating a certain look is, ironically, a decision. When you’re on the Trans spectrum, clothing can be freeing, comfortable, joyful, oppressive, or, if you’re unlucky, just plain wrong. A lot of it comes down to context and there’s times when what’s okay one day, is not on another. Not just for us, but partners if we’re a relationship. Finding out what works for you is a long game. Lessons Learned: Part I

Hi, As I put the blog anniversary post together the other day, I found a few features that I didn’t know this platform could do. The use of a widget to put a photo in the Recent Posts and also one to do galleries in a cool way. Well, I thought it was cool. Maybe I’m just not ‘down wid the kidz, yo’ 😉 Looking at the photos over the last fifteen years, I reflected on what had I learned? This isn’t to say these are great revelations, Thou Shalt Do This, or that these will work for everyone. It’s more, stuff I’ve found out along the way. If you can learn something from my mistakes or by following along, […]

Fifteen Years Later

Hi, A blog post of two parts today 🙂 Blog History Back in October 2005, a young (ish) chap sat with his back to the garden, in a room that’s no longer there. Autumn sunlight glowed against the wallpaper, but the man was lost in his thoughts, staring at the computer’s bulky monitor. Should he press ‘post’ or not? There’s a dilemma of the modern world many folk don’t have 😉 The computer, the wallpaper, and that room have all gone – renovations and recycling – but somehow, this blog remains. Yes, I’ve switched platforms, yet it’s the same old weekly posts. Well, occasional midweek ones, this year too. Various topics of reflection, sharing, trying to change things, and – […]

In search of…

Hi, As someone who maintains two wardrobes, there are times when the differences in the fashion industry’s approach frustrates. As a bloke, my options around trousers, shirts, and boots are fairly static, and therefore easy. At least, they are for a person who shops on the high street – or more accurately, retail park via online. Perhaps if I was more into higher fashion and/or higher expense, there would be more going on, but hey ho. While I have some interest in how I look as a guy, I have more thoughts, interest, and choice in Lynn mode. Style and fashion – for the two are not always good bedfellows, IMHO – in the women’s department is considerably more complex. […]

A look back – October

Hi, Despite the global pandemic, insanity of certain world leaders, the world continues to turn. True, slightly warmer and wetter going by reports, but we are still here. So it is that the season turn and the path on my lunchtime walk is now peppered with fallen leaves. Thinning branches hold on to a dwindling canopy, but the gaps to a pale sky competes with the blaze of rich autumn colours. A lazy Summer day is nice, but I’m not one for hot weather. Spring is welcome after the long Winter, but it’s Autumn that’s in my heart. The darkening days, cooler temperatures, more agreeable fashions, and the long steady drift through half-term and slow-then-rush to Christmas. With cooler weather […]
