Calmed

Hi,

Ah, the pleasure of a shorter working week, and hearing the delicate song of birds in the hedges. Oh, and the recycling lorry revving up to take our cardboard mountain away ๐Ÿ˜Well, much better than landfill, IMO. In a few weeks, the system will improve to take Tetra Pak cartons. Although in true muddleheadness, the convenient recycling points for those have gone…. and the new system isn’t in place. Deform clowns๐Ÿ™ƒ

I suppose the old recycling units might be stuck on the roads somewhere. I mean, it’s quite possible the replacement, replacement transport has got a flat tire. If only there was some way to repair the holes in the roads! ๐Ÿ˜ It’s all the rain, it’s the big cars, it’s climate change*, etc; well, it’s not like there aren’t other places on Earth where all three of those things are true, and yet, their road system isn’t crumbling.

[ * I thought you chuckleheads didn’t believe that was a thing? ๐Ÿ˜ ]

Apparently a recent council meeting got a bit heated, as Jo(e) Public is rather frustrated with damage to their vehicles. Oddly, no-one is interested in flag waving, and the poor snowflakes in charge lost their temper. Oh, boo-da-hoo ๐Ÿ˜ Do your job and stop bigot signalling.

Oh, and at a recent press jaunt in Derbyshire, I hear the local incumbent and “Man of the people” turned up…. in his Bentley. Oookay. I see how it is. It’s just another grift.

Opportunity but, oddly, no interest

Last weekend, the Ever Lovely Mrs J and Child 2.0 headed off on their travels, which meant I had time on my hands, and the hounds to look after. Neither of which are exactly a chore.

Now, I’ll cut to the chase so we can get into the navel gazing ๐Ÿ˜‰ I didn’t go out. I had time and chance all day on the Saturday, and for most of the Sunday morning too, but no. I did not feel the need to go anywhere, so other than some doggo walks, I took it easy. Well, I did put a load of shoes on Vinted and boxed them up for shipping. Just waiting on the payment to drop in. Oh my, there were at least five boxes and there’s two pairs that I’m going to offer up to Chams.

I suppose I was buying for lifestyle – if that makes sense. Some very pretty bright blue summer shoes I got in a sale, at least three pairs of ‘office heels’, and some leather look jeans. I guess I had wanted something that I could go out in the daytime, and it would pass as ‘lady out at lunch’. The truth is, I’ve got plenty of said items to make that look, so new stuff was probably more a pull towards wanting to be out. But, hey, that was the old job and during my unemployment break.

As to the coated jeans, I think in truth, I am more of a tights/leggings person. Funny how some things look amazing on some people, but do nothing for me. Ah, we’re back to the style conversation from Suzanne’s talk, last time. Still, now sold on and re-homed. Hopefully the new owner will feel suitably fabulous. Yes, I did put a note in saying “Thanks for your purchase and I hope these make you feel fab.” Seemed a kind thing to do.

So why not going out? Well, I guess my needs – as a genderfluid person – are being met. I’m sort of in the in-betweeny space where I’m not feeling ‘stuck in the bloke box’. I would say that is a good thing – not feeling stuck! ๐Ÿ™ Fancier nails, pins as they should be, flexibility around clothing, etc; they all help. Plus, there was an element of not needing anything. I didn’t need to pop into town. I wasn’t overly thrilled with the idea of the crowds and while I could have popped out for lunch, I’d rather save the pennies and take Mrs J out midweek.

Anyone else get the well, I could, but also can’t be bothered with it vibes? ๐Ÿค”

Chams – a quiet one

Despite the best efforts of a rainstorm and the last hurrah of winter weather, it was time for Chams. I was in two minds about wanting to switch to a more Spring wardrobe, but the strong cold wind (no, not mine), made me think opaques and a warm top may be the way to go! ๐Ÿ™‚ I packed a new Popsie dress but decided on an old favourite instead:

After getting changed, I found myself wondering if I had the wrong night. It wasn’t until 8pm that someone turned up, and there was just the four of us. I was saying to the Ever Lovely Mrs J earlier, that I was a little worried about numbers…. but – wise as she is beautiful – Mrs J reminded me there’s funds in the bank to cover quiet times, and it’s only the second time this year.

Note to self: do be aware, and don’t flap about stuff.

So, doubts aside we had a good chat, much laughter, and I’d actually remembered to bring the milk. Sadly, no Val who was away with business, so I was milk monitor. Debbie and I had a slight issue with the Centre’s alarm system not wanting to activate, but we got there in the end.

I did the usual IT thing: off, on, try again…. off on, try again… then read the error message slowly and the instruction panel ๐Ÿ˜‰ Luckily, that allowed an override as the system thought some internal doors were open – they weren’t the place was locked up. I was just leaving the Centre a voicemail, when the site manager called me back, and I let her know. Hopefully it was just a minor glitch, and it was off into that good night to make my way home.

Now it’s into the long weekend, and I’m taking the Ever Lovely Mrs J to a medical appointment. With a bit of luck, the glorious Spring sunshine will continue, and there might – just might – be a chance for a spot of brunch…. ‘cos we’re oh-so middle class ๐Ÿ˜‰

Whatever you’re up to this week, stay fabulous! ๐Ÿ’–
