Better weather

Hi, The washing machine hums along, revving up to a spin cycle. It’s my day off as I’m a part timing part timer. With Autumn flexing its weather credentials, and The Ever Lovely Mrs J caught up at work, I’m catching up on housework. Still, better on a damp day and then there’s the weekend to relax. I’ll freely admit this cleaning let is not my forte, but let’s hope it’s true that ‘the world loves a trier’ 😁 I’m not sure if it’s my middle aged eyesight, cat-like attention span, or I’m just a bit pants at it. 😉 Let it also be known that it’s an unwritten rule of the universe, that if a chap does something around […]

Hoping against hate

Hi, It’s been a busy week here at Chez Jones. A bit of a clear out as the new furniture we ordered is due next week. Like a small repair, a bit of gardening, or I’ll-just-try-this-new-make-uo-technique; it soon spirals into needing to do B through to Z until you can start A. Or maybe I’m very disorganised? Or easily distracted? Or both 😁 Playground Nonsense I wasn’t sure I wanted to write about this, but I think I’ve settled on something that’ll end upbeat. First, we may need to catch the ugly stench of divisive, ignorant statements from the Nasty Party. Yeah, I doubt I’ll be on their Christmas card list…. even if I’ll be on another list, if their […]

Alignment

Hi, This week has been a somewhat of a rather joyful alignment of good things. For those of you expecting a rich and thoughtful comment of D&D related gubbins; firstly, sorry to disappoint, and secondly, is it okay to identify as Chaotic Fabulous? 🤓 My, it’s been a very long time since I’ve played any pen & paper RPGs. Still, perhaps there’s time to think about Baulder’s Gate and see what folk have been up to with that world. Health Ah, the joys (!!) of getting older. Still, much better than the alternative 😉 A series of health checks at the GP this week and results from some blood tests. Nothing to worry about, just helping remind me that the […]

Seasons turning

Hello dear reader, Welcome dear autumn, with your bright mornings, fleece jumpers, and cosy boots. Goodbye shorts and sandals, may you enjoy the long rest in the cupboard. So good to see you again painted toes and smooth pins: it’s been too long. I’m glad you’re back. Colouring in I spotted this lovely bit of news earlier. It’s a story in which a group of cartoonists have come together to create a colouring book for children new to this country. How awesome is that? 💜 It’s full of old school Beano-esq monochrome, where a kid can spend some time enjoying one of life’s simple pleasures, art. If you have a few quid, you can donate to the cause, buying a […]

On, off, out, and better

Hi, Today, I had the good fortune of a day off. Hello blessings of reduced hours. Does this make me a part time part timer? 😉 Well, part time in as much as presenting. I’m always trans: just not able to appear that way. With that in mind, what is an occasional table when it’s not being a table? 🤔 Good vibes So, the good news is the nerves are starting to settle. Gah, talking about my nerves makes me think of a dramatic swoon in full Victorian garb. 😉 By the belt and braces of Richmond Jones, the poor lady’s nerves! Smythe! Get the smelling salts, my good fellow 🙂 Silliness aside, said worries are less intense, less… ground […]

Positive change

Hi folks, How’s things? For those of you in Dear Old Blighty, hopefully you’re managing to cope with the hellweather summer’s last hurrah. Oof. Wake me up when it’s back below 20°C 🙂 Enjoy the little things Bonus geek points if you can name the film reference 🤓 The good news around my mental health is that things seem to be settling down a little. Yes, I still feel the thrum of an over clocked heartbeat at times, stomach issues, but the incidents are generally less intense and shorter too. Worries come, but they do not seem to overwhelm me. This chemical detachment, if you will, seems to give the option to poke at the thought and pause: is this […]
