Hi,
The washing machine hums along, revving up to a spin cycle. It’s my day off as I’m a part timing part timer. With Autumn flexing its weather credentials, and The Ever Lovely Mrs J caught up at work, I’m catching up on housework. Still, better on a damp day and then there’s the weekend to relax.
I’ll freely admit this cleaning let is not my forte, but let’s hope it’s true that ‘the world loves a trier’ 😁 I’m not sure if it’s my middle aged eyesight, cat-like attention span, or I’m just a bit pants at it. 😉
Let it also be known that it’s an unwritten rule of the universe, that if a chap does something around the house, it must be mentioned 😉
Recharging
I had the pleasure of a night out on Thursday and felt so the better for it. I bumped into the Centre Manager, and we had a bit of chat about things. How S is, what the Community Centre are up to (including our food donations), and if Chams was doing okay.
As to the night itself… Now, I think I can split this into good and could be better.
Let’s get the grumble out of the way and talk about nice things afterwards. I felt I was not on my usual standard on the make-up front this week. I skipped on false lashes and LipCote (keeps my lippy on). I was pleased with the eye make-up, but by the end of the night, my lipstick had wandered and I was a bit, well, disappointed with my undereye application too. I think some more practice is required on the new technique and maybe I need to remember not to skip certain steps. It’s always a learning curve.
I had popped some curlers in to my wig and they’d done a fab job of putting in some volume. At least, they had as I took them out at home. Unfortunately, they had all but dropped out when I arrived. That’s despite keeping the wig on a stand in a tall box. Again, something to work on and hope, if you will, for better weather.
So, good things? I seem to be doing okay around the tablet situation. Certainly no more panic issues and my sleep seems to be settling too. As to Thursday, catching up with folk was just what I needed. The evening was quite busy, as folk had paired up, so there wasn’t really one topic of conversation. Good to see some variety and people enjoying themselves.
I bought a dress in the sale and felt rather pretty in it. Thanks to Val for taking the photo 💜 The pattern is of lemons and leaves, and I’m very partial to a wrap dress. Particularly when it’s reduced in the sale 😉
In other news, National Coming Out Day drifted by and, no, I did not come out to anyone. I guess I’m out to those who need to know and who knows if that will change.

Not quite the weather for washing. It’s chucking it down at the moment. You could get a good pre-rinse just pegging the dirty clothes on the line outside I suppose.
Pretty dress.
I’ve already pre-empted National Coming Out Day earlier this year, if only partially among a few selected friends, colleagues and siblings. The rest can guess (and likely, as with my family, come somewhat wide of the mark).
You’re not wrong about the rain, Susie. As I slipped my sodden cost off, I did wonder if it would’ve been easier to have stood outside holding the washing up for 30 seconds. Would it be wise to invest in a rain turbine? 😁
Thanks for the comment about the dress. I do love a pretty pattern and this caught my eye.
I hope the coming out is going well for you. Sometimes, not having to hide and to be accepted for who we are; well, it’s a fine gift.
Love the dress. When life gives you lemons, wear ’em! But be careful some admirer doesn’t drift in and give you a squeeze!
Glad all else seems to be settling.

V. pleased with the dress, thanks Sue. Just the right length and not mid calf plus lantern sleeves (#SoBoredOfThat 😁).
Ooo. Not squeezing please. A) I’m very happily married, and B) be careful of my pips 😉
