A top night out

Hi, Rejoice, smile and praise, for it is half-term and that means a break from the red tape machine! Freedom for the Every Lovely Mrs J and myself. No more meetings, no more school run panic and hello to lie-ins, cuddles with the kids and lazy afternoons. Get in. The countdown to not giving a ***t – that’s hoot, BTW, Honestly! – has chimed and coincided with the opening of a bottle of beer and the snaffling of a very tasty tea. Last night was party night at Nottingham Chameleons and it was one of those nights, were everything seemed to go well. For those of you who aren’t so interested in What Lynn Did Next, feel free to check […]

The Wrong Side of History

Hi, Well, how was your Christmas? I hope you had a pleasant one and that all went well. This year, we had somehow managed to duck much of the travelling and instead, the extended Jones Clan came to our little house. I could have said …on the prairie, but moor would be closer. 🙂 We are far enough out of civilisation to be in werewolf country, but at least it keeps the door-to-door sales people on their toes. So we swapped travel for the frenzied activity of cooking and preparing enough food. Honestly, I need to think about cutting down. Not only did I get a new postcode for Xmas, but I no longer feel safe swimming in case there […]

Mojo

Hey, How time passes eh? Well, unless you’re waiting for a download, the kettle to boil or a politician to get to the point. 🙂 The Jones Massive have been away and returned. All went very well. Both The Ever Lovely Mrs J and the nippers enjoyed the holiday. Just a little cottage in the north; we’re easily pleased. In fact, the lack of wireless probably helped. I certainly caught up on my reading…. and eating. Maybe another week of watching what I eat and walking more, will be a good thing. Still, lip up, eh, fatty? 🙂 I’ll be honest with you and say not much is going on at the mo – at least, from a trans perspective. […]

“Hold your head up, keep your head up, movin’ on”

Hello, Where to start? Shall we go with the good stuff? Reasons to be cheerful, eh? The Jones Massive have now returned from their short half-term sojourn to the wilds of the West Midlands. Five lovely days with zero mobile phone access, a bit of WiFi for anti-social media, one too many pub lunches and much walking of the hound & kids. All of the latter rest far easier when they’ve had a long walk. Likewise for No So Little Miss Tubby who’s currently hammering the keys. 🙂 Yes, it was a much needed and much enjoyed break. It’s funny. I often get a little tense about going away. I guess I’m a creature of habit. Yet, once I’m there, I’m soon […]

“Now it’s the same room but everything’s different”

Hi, Blustery days – a la Winnie the Pooh – are here again. The clouds zip through the sky as if on some type of stop motion playback. Below, it’s a bit more sedate – even if somewhat windy 🙂 How’s things with you? Ticking along nicely I hope. This year – at least in the UK – it’ll be time for another census. How things have changed at Jones Towers in the last ten years. Before there was two of us and pets, now there are four of us and no pets. Come to think of it a few weeks, it’ll be the anniversary of me dating the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones. Happy days! I guess we’re a traditional household, […]

“Get up, come on get down with the sickness”

Hi, How’s things? Seems I’ve been at home more than I’ve been at work week. Mind you, is that really a bad thing? 🙂 Little Miss wasn’t 100%, so I was house husband / caring dad for a few days. It was rather nice, even if she’s now spread the love. Ah well. 🙂 That probably explains why I went to Chams in bloke mode. Funny, I had been looking forward to going and I’d had a few thoughts on outfits. Yet, when push came to shove, I’d sort of lost interest. That’s one the great things about going out regularly; the fact that I know there will be other times. Besides, I’ve got some more leave to take before […]
