Sometimes, good things happen

Hi, It’s an early post for me as I’ve just finished one of those distance training courses. Not the old school learn by post kinda thing, but a learn-by-Skype style classroom. You get a little video of the class, remote access to the system you have to work on and you get to see the presentation slides. Luckily, there’s no return video feed – and we’ll come back to that in a mo 🙂 – but you can ask questions using the chat or microphone. It saves me having to travel to London and it saves the company money on a hotel. It all seems a little futuristic and everyday at the same time. How things change eh? Some of […]

Mirror, mirror, on the wall….?

Hi, With all things being well, this post will see the light of day – okay, the subdued kiss of evening – sometime Friday night. Yes, the Jones Massive are on the move for a short break. Partly due to school training days, upcoming birthdays and the why-the-hell-not factor. Not to mention the fact that both the Ever Lovely Mrs J and I could both do with a break from filling the boilers of bureaucracy with the paper of pointlessness…. okay, that’s enough of that word torture, you get the picture 🙂 Earlier in the week, it was Mrs Jones Senior’s birthday, seventy years upon with rock, no less. My sister and my dad, (bless ’em) had colluded to plot and […]

Sometimes, it ain’t about the time, it’s about the time you have there.

Hi folks, I am not going to talk about work. I am not going to talk about work. 🙂 Let’s just talk about the nice things in life eh? Music Glastonbury is wall to wall on the telly at the mo. So far I’ve caught a few minutes and decided to put fingers to keyboard while the ever growing list of Acts I Have Never Heard Of continue to play on (with the exception of Dizzy Rascal). I could stick a hash tag gag about being old, but that in itself, would be old……. but not as old as The Stones. 😛 I think it was the festival before, where I caught a performance by Marina & The Diamonds. I […]

“If ever I would stop thinking about music and politics”

Or more accurately, gender politics….. not that I’m particularly politically active. I guess I’m just not 100% content with the current two party system. 🙂 Sh**! I’m the LibDem option of gender! 🙂 Too late to say hi? Hello, it is then. It has been a rather eventful week and pretty much all in a good way. Well, mostly, but we’ll come to that later on. Stop Press! After last week’s dysphoric disco of distress I would like to report that I had a very good day today. That may not mean much in the great scheme of life, but to Yours Truly, it means a great deal. There was no rush to school – it’s the Easter holidays – and the […]

“One by one we gonna stand up with pride”

Hi folks, Happy Saint David’s day to the Massive from the Valleys. So…. what’s occurring?  🙂 Stand Up This month sees Comic Relief starting its charity events and this year, as I think I’ve mentioned in previous posts, they are running a gig – literally – for folk who fancy a go at stand up comedy. Yours truly, has decided to give it a go. Not that I consider myself to be funny per se…. and that’s not false modesty. There are plenty of people out there sharper, wittier or just plain ‘out there’, than I. Yet, it’s not a competition – as it states that on the T&Cs, I should add. If it was, I don’t think I’d be as […]

“I’m chasing down the wolves to save you.”

Hi, Today’s post will be a bit of a flying visit. It’s been a busy week and with us having half term on a jolly, it’s all systems go. So, why am I updating a blog? Well, I like doing it and as I can grab ten minutes to upload a few thoughts via mobile, why not. It keeps me happy. Which brings me on the current struggle with the lack of medication. I had thought about starting the post with there’s a war in my head, but A) that’s overly dramatic (even for me 😛 ) and B) it’s not true. It’s more like my mind is a tumble drier set on non-crease. Just when I think things are […]
