Hi, I was listening to a colleague, ‘C’, talk about how COVID19 had affected their daily life within their village community. Social activities were on hold, people talked at a distance across the lane, and folk were extra careful in the smaller shops. One item that caught my interest was about C’s friend, who for health reasons cannot wear a mask. Whatever that condition is, C didn’t specify and I didn’t press as it felt rude. The line that jumped out was C saying how frequently her friend was stated at, side eyed, and judged for not wearing a mask. It seems the Sunflower Campaign has not reached all parts of the country. Hi, In usual YATGB style this will be a bit of a ramble around the subject. Ah, if I was to be paid by the word eh? 😉 The other day, the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones said that her mum was thinking of visiting, but was put off by the drive. For the record, Granny J lives north of the city and we’re very much on the southern edges of the county. Hi, Due to a small and welcome windfall, I bought a new dress and heels this week. The shoes were a small eight so they will have to go back. That’s what I’m trying myself, rather than saying a wide nine may have been a wiser choice. Still, no need to worry about car parking, just a trip to the Post Office and they’ll go back without fuss. I am hoping that somehow, all will be well with a Thursday night out. It seems an age since I dressed and I am slightly nervous on the organisation of the night. Hi, A few months back I took the plunge and subscribed to a newspaper. Well, I say paper, it’s all very digital these days isn’t. Yes, I figured slowly back into the edges of things rather than be wholly out of the loop. Particularly as with the app, I can flick by (or block) opinion pieces and see less of the more… triggering articles and headlines. Today, this popped up about a ruling on an equality case. The judge – and I would recommend a full read before reading my twaddle 😉 – stated that gender was a spectrum and that they, the person in question, should be protected by the 2010 Equality Act. Hi, Crikey, it’s Wednesday already. I hope the half week has been kind to you. I’m conscious of the old advice that no good story starts off talking about the weather. But… 😉 We had a brief hot spell due to air from the tropics visiting our western European climes, but we’re now back to jeans and boots weather. On that note of the turning off the weather, so too does the Trans situation seem to be warming back up. Hi, Last night was the first meeting for Chameleons in around six months. For me, it was a night of mixed emotions… not too sound overly dramatic 😉 Meeting friends I’d not seen in half a year was great. Knowing that our plans to keep open brought the mood down a little. As I sat on my own at 745, I did wonder if it might just be myself and Val, but as time ticked by, there was around seven of us all in.
