What you already have

Hi, One of those inbetweenie weeks this time around. Well, I guess you could argue that’s every week when you’re an somewhat in-between genderfluid person. 🙂 McTwitch Due to me not checking my prescription properly, I ran out of anti-anxiety meds at the start of the week. Oopsie! I quite enjoyed feeling like I had a little less brain fog and I wondered if I was okay to just gently drift through the Christmas holidays. While, thankfully, I didn’t have the biting return of the Panic Goblins, I very much had a spell via McTwitch, as my flight drive kicked in, while I was fixing the printer. Yeah, so no great shakes – no pun intended – and a gentle […]

What did you do in the culture wars, Granny Lynn?

Hi, So we’re midway through November and we’re into Trans Awareness Week. If you’re not aware of it, it’s a period of time where anti hate policies are activated on social media and angertainment creators take a much deserved break from holding us diabolical trans people to account… Oh, who am I kidding! 😁 In more civilised areas that’s not the case. Indeed it’s been so rather lovely to see a surge of good news stories about trans folk and their lives. To read about people just getting on; hearing how getting who they need to be helps; and how to be a good ally; etc. Which brings me around to this evening’s post and an perhaps an odd intersection. […]

Hoping against hate

Hi, It’s been a busy week here at Chez Jones. A bit of a clear out as the new furniture we ordered is due next week. Like a small repair, a bit of gardening, or I’ll-just-try-this-new-make-uo-technique; it soon spirals into needing to do B through to Z until you can start A. Or maybe I’m very disorganised? Or easily distracted? Or both 😁 Playground Nonsense I wasn’t sure I wanted to write about this, but I think I’ve settled on something that’ll end upbeat. First, we may need to catch the ugly stench of divisive, ignorant statements from the Nasty Party. Yeah, I doubt I’ll be on their Christmas card list…. even if I’ll be on another list, if their […]

If you don’t say…

Hi, How’s things with you? Shall we start with some personal stuff and then I’ll get the soapbox out? 😉 I mean, well, habits, yo 😁 Home stuff I’m grateful this week for mild weather. Not having to worry about when it’s okay to take the hounds out, or when it comes to sleep. That frustration of being too hot to sleep at night and then too hot in the day not to start nodding off. I, for one, do not welcome our new Lizard Overlords 😉 I’m also now part-time. The Ever Lovely Mrs J and I had an end of week day out on my day off. A stroll with the dogs, no clocks to watch, and nowhere […]

Let soup be soup

Hi, The week is done and so the call of the weekend begins. Somehow I clocked up three miles of walking today. I say this as a reason why I had a nap after tea, rather than as an achievement. 😁 Today’s post – usually given the last few – may be more upbeat, but will continue in the usual vein of claptrap and bunkum. What an amazing title for a quirky old shop that sells rare curios and books…. Some, mais out, may be of eldritch enhancement, but never cursed. Ïä, ïä 🐙 Thursday Due to an unfortunate clash of fortunate events, I was in Bloke Mode again this time around. The good news is that Child 2.0 had […]

Pressing the backspace key

Hi, I’m having issues at the mo around writing. The ideas come quickly enough and yet I feel I’m self censoring. Just the other day I started a reply to someone and I stopped. Not because it was mean, unkind, or dodgy: but simply, if I don’t say this, does it matter? Sharper tongued readers may be asking that about the whole blog…. and they’d not be wrong! 😁 I felt urged to comment – perhaps even satirically – around recent rulings (see here: The Good Law Project and PinkNews here) – but again, why? Those reading this are likely to trans or allies, and in ‘preaching to the choir’ is anything likely to change? I could spend that energy […]
