The light and the dark of memories

Hi, 2015 After a month away from fabulousness (a word so fab, it’s not in my phone’s dictionary), a night out to Chams was just what I needed. Generally, I don’t mind a long stay on Planet Drab, but it’s good to get away and be all of yourself, once in a while. Anyhoo, it was edging to the wrong side of warm, by the end of the night, but, we have to suffer for our art, do we not? It being summer, we had our party and everyone had chipped in, bringing plenty of snacks, cakes and drinks. I should thank Val for her photographic talents under the duress of balmy, summer nights. Those of you of middling ages, […]

A top night out

Hi, Rejoice, smile and praise, for it is half-term and that means a break from the red tape machine! Freedom for the Every Lovely Mrs J and myself. No more meetings, no more school run panic and hello to lie-ins, cuddles with the kids and lazy afternoons. Get in. The countdown to not giving a ***t – that’s hoot, BTW, Honestly! – has chimed and coincided with the opening of a bottle of beer and the snaffling of a very tasty tea. Last night was party night at Nottingham Chameleons and it was one of those nights, were everything seemed to go well. For those of you who aren’t so interested in What Lynn Did Next, feel free to check […]

A little bit of serendipity

Hi, It was all a bit of a rush to get ready the other day. Not because I had a lot on, but… well, if you’re anything like me – and let’s hope not for you sake! 🙂 – there are days when I just can’t seem to get organised. Oddly, I had sorted everything out the night previous. Mainly because I have this feeling that if I added the what to wear factor into the getting out of the door equation, my tiny mind would collapse under the strain. Oh, first world problems eh? 🙂 But, eventually, I got into gear. Maybe I should have had a shave earlier in the week, as no doubt the tramp beard I […]

Under the bridge

Hi, Not a reference to the rather good Red Hot Chili Peppers, nor the shambolic pop mauling from All Stains – sorry, Saints. 😛 As I made my way to Chameleons last night, so I drove under the new bridge by Queen’s Medical Centre. It’s been a while coming and as I’ve sat in traffic on the way home, I’ve watched it be slowly assembled and now, it straddles the dual carriage way, ready to take the next phase of the tram from the city out to Clifton. It’s nice to see the money I’ve been charged for being able to park at work on land the firm owns, put to use 😉 I would have liked to have taken […]

“It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.”

Hi, Yes, I’m a day later than usual, but I have a good excuse; I was living it up on an Invasion night out. I could have gone with the dog ate my blog blog, but as the hound has her own Blogger account, what’s the chances of that? 🙂 For those of you who’ve still got a turkey to wrap and presents to stuff, I’ve prepared two versions of tonight’s post. Abridged Changing issues. Got fab. Had a truly great night out. Got home. Slept. Unabridged Good News from the War on Moping Not sure if I alluded to this in the last few posts, but in recent months, life – from a pro-celebrity miserablist point of view – […]
