Recharged

Hi, Ah, the joys of a week off. While it’s gone by rather quickly, it’s been great to leave the work laptop switched off, ditch the sofa home office routine, and get out into Autumn. The Ever Lovely Mrs J and I have had the pleasure of birth each others company and a few new routes on our dog walks. That and occasional stops for coffee. Mrs J had some good news from the medical folk recently, so we feel the are heading in the right direction. I guess you have be thankful for what goes right 🙂 We’ve changed our food box – I know, so middle class 😉 – to be veggie for Mrs J’s health and that’s […]

Once more to the wardrobe, dear friends, once more!

Hi, Today has been a day of no meetings and given some of the back to back runs of late, this cool down period to ease into the weekend is rather lovely. Not that I’ve done nothing, I should add. Part of my role is to be creative with technology, so thinking space to explore and test is valuable. Such creative work can also help me get into the zone. That moment where you’re involved in creating something new and deep into it. I used to find the same with baking or painting miniatures for tabletop gaming. Yes, I’m aware that the G in TG stands for geek in my case 😉 However, such work is also a good distraction […]

See through

Hi, The other day I was talking with Susie – as much as you can in an email 🙂 – and the topic of being recognised came up. Not from a passing point of view, but on being seen for your other identity. Thinking on this later, I did wonder if I might be from the same planet as Clark Kent. I mean, we both have secret identities, an extra pair of knickers helps keep your tights up, and we’ve have had to get changed in inconvenient locales. 🙂 I don’t have his physique and the laser vision would certainly be handy for summer BBQs. All that aside, when I go through the process of getting changed, even though the […]

The Power of the Pedi

Hi, A few years back I was reading an article about tattoos and some of the reasons people gave around them. Not just the design, the age at which they got one (or more), but also where they decided to have the ink. One of the interviewees said that they liked their design somewhere less visible. That the tattoo was for them to enjoy. Perhaps on a similar note – one around things for the self, rather than things to be shown – there’s a few occasions where I’ll reach for the nail polish. Now, Chams regulars will know my paws are rarely sans paint, but that’s an often all too brief episode. Toes, on the other… um… hand? 😉 […]

The walk, not the line

Hi, How’s your week going? Nearly Friday. Chin up, chuck 🙂 The other day I was sat having my lunch. Two sarnies, some hummus with celery, and a cold drink. The sun was warm and Hound 1 was sat next to me in the sofa, hoping I’d slip him a bit of sarnie. I didn’t, as bread doesn’t agree with him. I started to think of the things I needed to do in the afternoon and maybe I could look for some new headphones while I ate…. But, I stopped and did none of those things. Why rush lunch? Why snaffle my lunch when I had no meetings until 2pm? Why did I feel the need to be looking for […]

Day & Night

Hi, A day out It’s been a short week for Yours Truly, What with the Easter Bank Holidays and an extra day off on Tuesday. The Ever Lovely Mrs J and I looked down to Leicester. Mainly as a break from the norm and to grab a spot of lunch together. We looked at a few hidden bits of urban history, people watched a bit, enjoyed the spring sunshine, and took our time. Mrs J said she had an HR course coming up on trans awareness which made us both chuckle given our circumstances. The conversation drifted around Grayson Perry (and his/her eloquence), how some men dress up (I don’t mean crossdress. Think MAMILs, bikers, hipsters, sportsmen, etc), and she […]
