Respair

Hello dear reader. How are things with you? I hope things are going well or moving towards getting there. Despite a slight sprinkling of grumpy dust earlier in the week – tiredness? over work? just being a d*ck? – this week has gone surprisingly well. Okay, apart from getting drenched while taking the dogs for a walk. It seems waterproofs are only proof for so much. Luckily, there’s towels and tumble dryers 🌟 Today’s title is from the ever educating Susie Dent. A word that I found over on Positive.News here and then I stumbled on this, which made me chuckle. So, yeah, as Susie explains Respair is fresh hope; a recovery from despair. I’ll take that. Perhaps the confelicity […]

Transgender Day of Remembrance

On 20th November each year, the transgender community remembers those who’ve we’ve lost to violence. Violence is enabled by those who spread hateful disinformation about trans and gender nonconforming people. Hatred that has a cost in lives. Clocks and tick tock, tick tock

Hi, Do you have one of those days/weeks in which time seems to run away with you? Sometimes, I wonder if there’s three types of time: minutes, anti-minutes, and life minutes. Minutes: dependable, regular, and standard sixty seconds, and building up nicely to a whole hour. Just three minutes? Boil an egg or make yourself a nice cup of tea 🙂 Anti-minutes take an age to tick by: downloading a file, waiting for the kettle, double Maths on a Friday, Death by PowerPoint, finding your nail varnish still isn’t set, etc. On the other hand, the cosmic balance is kept steady by life minutes: time goes by in a flash where you’re in a rush, enjoying yourself, just closed your […]

The right type of news

Hi, Well this is a late edition for a Friday. Given the choice between gassing on and having a nap, well, the forty winks won lids down. There was a little too much week at the end of the brainpower, so an emergency power save function was called. We’re still keeping the heating off, although as Child 2.0 has one of the coldest rooms, he’s got his storage heater on, bless him. For the rest of the house, we’re in comfy plus sized hoodies, blankets, and heat pads if it gets nippy. Our dogs have coats as well, but as they don’t have thick fur, it would feel mean otherwise. While it’s fairly easy to layer up for your body, […]
