Hi, Last week and indeed today, I spent a fair few hours writing blog posts that haven’t made the light of day. I am unsure what this is. Part of it feels like a confidence/quality question – certainly in the spoof post I drafted. But in terms of my views on the recent ruling on the employment tribunal case, I’m thinking I’m self-censoring. The above doubt circles around like a spinning top. Some summer sparkle

Hi, Last night was an evening out to Chams and date I say, I rather enjoyed it. It was great to be out for an evening to catch up with friends. I’m going to leave the post about the employment tribunal news for another day. What I’ll say right now, is it’s not great news, but I think it may not be as bad as some make out. Price and/or pride?

Hi, I switched on my gaming console last night and I noticed a tile showing celebrate pride month. Intrigued, I took a look and indeed there was a number of inclusive games (as in friendship, identity, and romance options are more than only cis/het ones). That and content from LGBTQ+ folk in terms of games and films. All good stuff, IMO, and as a gamer and someone who’s somewhere on the Trans spectrum, I thought it was a good thing. So, here’s my questions why wait until June? What happens after Pride finishes? Tis the season

Hi, With it being June, it’s Pride month and there’ll be various events online and otherwise from LGBTQ+ organisations around the world. For anyone asking why do we need a month for people to be proud of who they are, I would say you only need to look at the news and at recent history. The documentary on Netflix called Hating Peter Tatchell or Amazon Prime’s Disclosure would be excellent places to start if you’re interested in recent history, IMO. The 1970s might have been an age away, yet the laws and attitudes of that time cast a long shadow. One that still, sadly, touches us. So am I moaning about the past? Clothes maketh the [insert identity here]

Hi, With the turn of the seasons, so it is time to put away trousers, long sleeved tops, and other warm clothing. No more zip up boots – my go-to shoe style in Richard mode – and on with the Berkies and shorts. With the change in clothing comes the thought of replacing old items and of late, I’ve started to think that I have a difficult relationship with clothes. Feel free to make your own jokes at this point. A lot better than last week

Hi, What a difference a week makes, eh? A few days of beautiful sunshine, practicing some self care (tea breaks, looking out of the window, etc), and an evening out (Chams) have all helped to put the spring back in my step. All in time for the back holiday weekend as well. 🙂 In other news, our eldest has finished school. That’s it for him until his A level results and then he may be off to university. He’s currently out with his friends and I hope they are drinking responsibility.
