Hi, Today is the Transgender Day of Visibility and despite the lockdown situation, Trans* folk are doing what they can to be more visible. In the spirit of honesty – not that I lie or deceive on YATGB 🙂 – I struggle with days like today. Sure, I run this blog, I try my best to be an ally at work, and there’s what I do to help out at Chameleons. Thinking on the latter, there’s the outreach work we do around that too. Hi, So, how is lockdown going for you? I guess I should add a little more to that as some countries are enforcing it, some are suggesting it, and others, well, I’m not sure ignoring is wise. I guess we will see how those strategies all play out in the coming months! For me, and listening to the Ever Lovely Mrs J’s science view on things, the populist idea of “Oh, it’ll all blow over soon. Now back to work!” seems at best naïve, in reality… What? Dumb? Hi, First off, I hope that you and yours are all safe – no matter where you are or who you are. Today was the last school run for a bit and both kids are now at home. True also for Muggins here and the Ever Lovely Mrs J. Sadly, Mrs J is run down from a bad cold – no, not COVID, thankfully! – but other than that, we soldier on. How is the virus affecting us? Hi, Thursday was a small island of calm in a far busier than usual week. Due to the fall of some meetings, I decided to pop into town. I had a few things to do: banking, pick up some items for the Ever Lovely Mrs J’s Mother’s Day gifts from the kids, and I took a chance to get some new foundation. Town was very quiet – even for a working day – and the car park near the centre was far emptier than I was used to. Hi, Over the last few months, I’ve been listening to a podcast called Dice Will Roll. It features for people who are all somewhere in the LGBTQ+ mix and they are playing through a pen & paper roleplaying game called Pathfinder. I am really enjoying the fact that the setting has been unashamedly tweaked to be LGBTQ+ friendly and that really monkeys about the traditional fantasy setting…. and if I’m honest, some of the clichés that litter all genres.
