“I’m on a mission,
In the destination unknown…”

Hi folks, Earlier today I was pondering what to write about. I had thought about doing a version of Desert Island Discs, a favourite radio show of mine. Yes, you know my keenness with music, but truth by told, it is as much the story of the person behind the tracks that interests me. Well, some interviewees, I should add. Sportsfolk don’t interest me so much, so those episodes I tend to overlook. Perhaps it’s because I don’t look into their world so much. Maybe if I did, I’d take more of an interest. Anyhoo, that will have to wait for a little while as I consider a few tracks. T-Town Some weeks (Ed: months?) ago, I talked about the Our […]

“Throw your bombs and your blows,
But you’re not gonna break my soul.”

Hi, Just when I thought I’d snaffled all my Maltesers, I spied one rested at the side of the keyboard. Little pleasures eh? By a strange quirk of thought (Ed: Fate?), I guess that sums up most of the week really: small, but welcome bursts of good things happening. The first part of the week saw me away from home on a training course. Some IT “what’s new” gig and while you could argue it could have been a rather tedious death-by-PowerPoint marketing exercise, it wasn’t like that at all. Instead, we – I say, we as a work mate went along – did learn a few things and overall, the course was very helpful. Having a few nights away in […]

“Yep, I’d rather be called deadly, for my killer show-tune medley (Thank you!)
‘Cause way down deep inside, I’ve got a dream.”

Hello dear reader, How are things on Planet You? Matters at Jones Towers are a little chilly; not from the emotional view, but the physical. The Jones Mansion is undergoing renovation work – an extension to the Polo Lounge (!!) – so we’re without windows in certain parts of the house. Just the gentle breeze and occasional clap of canvas. Still, with luck, the builders will be back in to fit the necessary parts Saturday morning. I’m willing to forgo a Saturday lie-in for the sake of being able to feel my toes when I’m in the back of the house. 😉 Earlier in the week it was the Ever Lovely Mrs Jones’s birthday and armed with a shopping list, […]

“We’ll take our hearts outside,
Leave our lives behind”

Hi folks, Not only is it the weekend, but here in the UK, it’s a long break two: the Easter Bank Holiday. Well, for those of us who don’t have to work it. The Ever Lovely Mrs Jones was rather clever when she planned a short break for the Jones Massive, so we’ve had a week away and now we’re back to a long weekend. Just time to cram in the usual stuff of food shopping, dog walking, child entertainment, family visits and – if we’re lucky – a decent amount of laying about, reading books. I’m hoping there will be quite a lot of the latter. Ahh, setting my sights on the dizzy heights once again eh? 🙂 The […]
