Turning

Hi, The Ever Lovely Mrs J and I have been catching up on our longer walks. Given our dear old boy dog has passed on, it seems his partner in crime, girl dog – and the recently acquired new boy dog – have decided that all walks will now be done at a brisk pace. After the last few months of gentle strolls, I’m not quite managing to keep up. What a duffer eh? 🙂 Perhaps it’s a good thing we have to slow down. I’m not sure that others in the woods would enjoy a ground level sonic boom as the hounds accelerate to sub light speed…. 😁 In reality, the pace starts quickly, but as the hounds pick […]

Excellence

Hi, To those of you who got in touch about last week’s sad events, or said kind things about last week’s outfit – or, of this week’s post, if you will – thank you. ♥️ You didn’t have to and it was touching. I was not expecting any of that and that’s not why I waffle on here on YATGB. I think I try to offer a positive spin on what it’s like to be outside the usual gender roles. Mainly with the message, or so I hope, that if I can, anyone can. You just need to give it a go. Now, given the Internet isn’t always a pleasant place, genuine kindness reminds me that people can be beautiful, […]

Measurements

Hi, Perhaps it’s hackneyed and obvious, while the sun sets, it must also rise in the morning. Perhaps it’s a good job that it does, otherwise the Earth would freeze and we’d all be dead. Great news for vampires, but probably a downer on the rest of us. Actually, who would vampires drink? Maybe it’s best the Earth keeps on spinning after all. Now, where was I? Earlier in the month I had visited a lingerie specialist who’s based up near Newark. Janice has visited us before the whole COVID19 fiasco and been very welcoming about supporting LGBTQ+ customers. I turned up in Richard mode, we had a quick chat in the showroom, and then it was off for a […]

Funny shaped dice

Hi, Ah, the luxury of a long weekend shines forth once again. Yes, with the Jones Crew not heading in holiday this summer – what with family health, doggo worries, exam results, and that old devil COVID – the Ever Lovely Mrs J and I are using up or holiday by taking shorter weeks at work. I’m rather liking it as there’s times in booking a break that it just adds more stress to the general huff and puff of life. That aside, I’ve been enjoying the weekly podcasts from Mermaids UK and if you’re not yet listening in, there’s a list of them here. It’s a collection of different presenters from around the Trans community and they talk about […]

Time and tide

Hi, I was going to start with ‘the funny thing about being genderfluid is…’ but I stopped as it felt like the warm up to a joke. I am now feeling a bit of pressure to say something amusing, but that’s unlikely to happen 🙂 A while ago, someone asked me what did being genderfluid felt like to me and the answer I gave was it was like the tide and a walk by the sea. It’s just a matter of time before the water rolls in and I start to feel that I’d like to express/appear/be the fancier version of who I am. As a midlander while I understand how the Moon affects the sea, the actual timings remain […]

Whispers from the wrong side

Hi, Yesterday was a Chams meeting and with the heat wave this week, I decided not to pack a bag. When I arrived and started to set the room up, the AC unit said it was 30C. Yikes. 🙂 I’m not sure what would be on the floor first: me or the makeup I’d applied 😁 The funny thing about turning up in bloke mode is…. sometimes, it makes me doubt myself, or more accurately, my authenticity. Am I just, well, making it all up? I think the truth of it is no, I’m not. I’ve been on this gender circus (no clown references please 😉) for most of my life and I think I’ve been at a point where […]
