Repair, retry, and restyle

Hi, How’s things? Hopefully good. Thank goodness it’s Friday night. I think I need a recharge 😁 Travelling I had a day in the office which meant I’d swapped my dad off for earlier in the week. I will be honest, as much as I liked two days on, a day off, and two days before the weekend; I am a creature of a habit, and was thoroughly confused by the change in days. I guess it doesn’t take much these days to discombobulate me! 🙃 The trip down south went well and the ElectricDadMobile 2.0 had enough range to get to work and almost back. It’s a two hundred mile trip and once you add in motorway speeds, that […]

Ignoring the stream of negativity

Hi, After last week’s micro-wobble, a visit to Chams to see friends and some time out of ‘bloke mode’ has done me a world of good. Funny that such a simple thing – well, I say simple! – helps me settle and become comfortable again. I suppose that “birds of a feather” phrase, in that it’s people who get it, and who understand. No need to keep the proverbial mask on, and conversations flows naturally, with no second guessing. Maybe a shorter phrase would be authenticity 🙂 But, this all this helps. Reasons indeed to be thankful. Self Care At the start of the week, I tried a bit of self-care to help push the cobwebs away, and let in […]

That’s no moon

Hi, I nearly started the introduction with “hello there”, which may ring a few bells if you’re a sci-fi nerd (like me) or have used the Internet any time in the last ten years 😉Still, we have our title, and possibly, a tie in with the graphic below. I feel that labels are shortcuts and as such, trim a long story to a short one – and in some cases, a single word. However, if the history of YATGB has taught me anything, it’s that I don’t do short explanations 🙃 Excuse me while I rev up the hyper-waffle-drive… 😉 Two scoops of ice-cream…. a dash of maple syrup…. and we’re off! [ Today I learned: To be genderfluid may […]

Colour me happy

Hi, Ah, hello Long Weekend! Well, for we part-timing part-timers, every weekend is a long one. It may sting in the wallet, but it feels good in the soul 🙏 Ah, there’s a nice dose of Posiblogging! 🥰 Today’s post will be very much What Happened At Chams. I mean, we could talk about a lying liar who lies, and why a certain result didn’t matter to them. But who wants to hear about liars? Well, except when they’re caught out 😉 Let’s move on! Cue big queues I was a little later setting off that usual on Thursday night. Not by any great amount, but – like the school run and the rush hour – the wrong fifteen minutes […]

Unexpected and appreciated

Hi, How’s things? Hopefully good, and if not yet there; fingers crossed – oh and “may the odds be ever in your favour” 😉 A fair few things to report and quite a bit to be thankful for. Werking at work So my first pay cheque is due shortly. How nice! Not quite sure what the amount will be, but it’ll certainly help with the bills. Apparently I’m due a tax rebate as there’s been a mistake since my last employment. That’ll top things up nicely! 🙏 Better not say anything too loudly – or make any plans – as the Fates may have other plans for that: the unexpected expenses! 🙃 No one expects the unexpected expenses, etc… Well, […]

Paws, pins, and draws

Hi, Well, we’re out of January and I guess that makes us a little closer to spring. Perhaps the luxury of some blue skies, rather than the grey, and a break from the rain would be nice. Not much to report this week and perhaps – given the state of the world elsewhere – that’s a good thing. Paws In terms of the little things, the Orly treatment for my nails seems to be working well. Switching between the nourishing and the strengthener has meant they’re retaining their shine and a little bit of length. As I’ve said earlier, quite the luxury of affirmation. It’s not until now that the penny has dropped around just how much I see my […]
