Hi, A short week this time around. I could get used to this! 🙂 Ah, but it were not for the requirement of filthy lucre to settle one’s bills and put food upon the table. Sunday morning during the Easter weekend in Nottingham. Beautiful blue skies, a warm Spring sun, and a faint yet cooling breeze. My boots – vegan, women’s, M&S – whispered against the city streets as I made my way up through the manicured ruins of the new Broadmarsh park. No longer the slum of an early century, but maybe a tombstone of a once proud shopping centre. Across from the carefully laid rocks and water courses, loose tarps from the building’s skeleton flapped in the wind. Ghosts of visits passed drifted into my head. Hi, Well, I think we can agree that the recent judicial review has, to use some classic British understatement, not gone well. For want of a better metaphor, I am juggling a number of hats… As one of the organisers for Chameleons, I am trying to keep my cool and calm the understandable concerns – nay, fear – of our community. There’s a number of friends who have transitioned – or who are. We’re now faced with the greater risk of bigots – yes, I’m saying that – yelling about “people in the wrong place”, be that the loo, changing room, etc. What a horrible world! Hi, So, how are things? 🙂The Jones Crew are currently on staycation, although – bless her – the Ever Lovely Mrs J has had to pop into work. This leaves Child 2.0 sleeping in, as all late teens do and should, IMO. Meanwhile, Muggins here is mushing the keyboard and streaming consciousness in an effort to get going….. and breathe; and relax. 😉 With the luck of UK bank holidays, my non-working days, and the Easter school break, we’re having some time off as a family. I think Child 2.0 certainly needed it, as the full term has worn them down. Not because they’re slacking, but quite the opposite; they work so hard. Hello dear reader, How’s things? I had toyed with the idea of making each sentence shorter, due to the new tariffs. However, A) that would remind us of the news, and I’m of the mind that we come here to get away from the nonsense.
