Hi,
It’s the slow part of a sunny Friday afternoon. In days gone, it was the long drawn out time between lunch, the escape to the weekend, and the faff of the rush hour traffic.
Today, the tweeting of birds in the garden compete with the hum and bump of the tumbler. While the heavier items swing on the line in the soft breeze, there’s a play off between time, energy, and getting all the smalls done in one run. Besides, it’s a heatpump system, so significantly cheaper than having to the run the storage heaters.
I’m enjoying a lay down having spent the morning sorting, tidying, and – knowing look to camera 😏 – a wander through the Narnian genderfluid wardrobe. If that phrase was on your bingo card this week, any chance of the lottery numbers? 😉
I had not expected to be reaching for my Snags this week, although I was glad of the extra layers. They certainly warm the body and the soul. On the latter, the mix n match (or hers & sirs?) blended approach seems to keep the dysphoria pressure on a lower setting.
Usually it would be Chams this week. However, sometimes the calendar falls in a way in which there’s a fortnight between events. So it was that I could feel that familiar tightening of the screw. But, the good thing about a Friday off, means I’m free to shed the bloke armour and tick the boxes of refreshing home and heart.
To start with, my new dress arrived from Unfolded. As the company sew them to order, this is very much slow fashion and classic (but not boring!) designs. The company also pay in to teaching young folk to read and they pay their India based factory team a living wage. While we’re not talking ultra high end, the clothes are well made and dare I say, it feels as if folk are doing their best with the dressmaking. I should point out that I’m not getting paid to say this. I guess that keeps things honest, though.
No, Daily Heil, I did not pop on the dress and flounce about the place doing the housework in heels. It is very much not the 1950s. Besides, the item is new and to spill cleaning spray on it, or snag a dress on the furniture? No, this is why sports leggings & cute trainers are so popular 🙂
Not that I did that either, I had some bloke trouses to try on before going to the office next month. That and I needed my fake tan to dry on my upper arms. Oh the vanity! 😁
While casting my eye on the summer wardrobe, I did spot my old wig and spent a few minutes with the hair straighteners putting some life back into it. That was quite the joy to have a task that feels completed and enjoyable.

So all of the above – and this afternoon’s feet up for blogging – has helped me ease into the weekend, and topped up the Posiblog batteries.
It’s Chams next week and with luck, Nicola from Wigeroo will be visiting. Perhaps there will be a chance of a new ‘do! Fingers crossed.
Take care,
L x

Ah, the banality of trans life that is so … perfect. Just sorting clothes, ordering stuff, checking what works, is all so affirming. And may I say, in the teeth of trans purists, that it’s OK to mix and match.
If I were to ask how you came to be in possession of THAT wardrobe, I guess you reply would be “Narnia business”.
(Oh, come on, that’s got to be better than the joke in the Saturday morning cereal packet, surely?!)
Have a nice weekend, Lynn.
Sue xx
Firstly, that pun was rather good 👏 It did make me chuckle 😁
As to banality, yes, I did feel a shadow of that as I was bashing away at the keyboard. However, as you point out about affirmation, dare I say – and indeed hope! – that a lot of life is uneventful. Indeed, getting to a place where there’s not drama and whatnot, I think that might be a good thing. All that and the luxury of the freedom to not have to rush, to be yourself, and there’s the satisfaction of things looking better than before. Well, certainly the house, not so much me 😁
With all the craziness in the world right now, a wee visit to the quiet locale of Llakcef – apologies to Thomas & Pratchett 😉 – might be a reminder that life goes on slowly, quietly, and there’s joy in the little things.
BTW, not heard the phrase “in the teeth of”, so thank you for that linguistic gem.
As Sue comments, that phrase “Narnian genderfluid wardrobe” definitely needs some unpacking or it could lead to all sort of ideas. (Having said which, I have no idea how fauns identify or present.)
But it’s an apealing idea: that you wander in as one self and emerge as another. Or was that Mr Ben? (And did Mr Ben ever come out the shop in heels and a fab frock?) So many questions.
” I did not pop on the dress and flounce about the place doing the housework in heels”.
Oh, just me then? But, sadly, not today.
I believe fawns present as half hairy, half not. You would’ve thought a coat, a jumper, or even a good scarf would have helped. Perhaps the Ice Queen have Tumnus some antifreeze? 🙂
I guess the Narnia levels are towards the depths. For folk of a more sci-fi leaning, would TARDISian make more sense? 🤔
I think Mr Benn mostly went with the costume picked by the shop keeper. That and he kept a souvenir from his travels. Tu this day, I’m unsure if Mr Benn had an amazing imagination, the shop was magical, or if he’d been on Holmes’s famous Bolivian Enlightenment Power & Deepswell’s Finest Shag tobacco…. or all of them 😉 His house must have been a magpie’s den with all the “souvenirs”.
I have – and would recommend doing the vacuuming in heels. It’s a great way to improve your balance, IMO. The big ‘tache is optional though. 😁
Sometimes the simple femme days are the best. Just pottering about in a frock enjoying the ordinary things in life. Sorting through our wardrobes, and tidying them. It’s just a lovely way to spend time.

Yes, taking things steady and having the luxury of time to get tasks done, that’s rather good, IMO. Likewise with clearing up – or clearing out – your wardrobe.
What a lovely dress Lynn, I love the colour and pattern and how it flows.
I assume it’s not getting returned then?
‘Topped up the Posiblog batteries’ – I like this 🙂
Best Wishes

Thanks Lotte. No, the dress is not being returned 🙂 I am hoping to wear it to Chams or elsewhere, if the weather isn’t too warm.
Here’s to more posiblog battery recharges! 😀
