Hi,
As I was unloading the tumble drier earlier, three thoughts drifted into my noggin.
Firstly, I’m hoping the T800 Eco Warrior won’t come for me, because it’s a heat pump based system, and there are more important environmental criminals worthy of their attention. Oh, and no AntiWokers, I don’t mean ‘terminating’. Perhaps a look into the post 1.5C world in 2070 might be enough to make them think….. not that I’ll be holding my breath for the tech-broligarchs to think any further than their fame, power, and money. A level of wealth beyond vulgar, IMO.

Secondly: it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a man in progression of housework, must be in want of advertising it 😉 With apologies to Ms Austen. Not 100% the dress is quite the right time period but tis a very cute ensemble nonetheless 😉I wonder how long it takes her to put all those earings in, though? 🤔
Jokes aside – and getting to the point – it was as I folded my clothes from the weekly pile: smalls, tops, two bodysuits, a dress, etc; that I was thinking how good I have it. I mean, I am in a place that I could not imagine when I was a teen stuck in a deadbeat rural town during the 80s.
I have the Ever Lovely Mrs J, two amazing kids, a job I enjoy (in general – all things have ups & downs, and stresses), and I am moving towards part-time work. All that and friends at Chams, Mrs J’s acceptance, time to be myself*, this blog, and I feel I am part of a trans community. I might be by myself, but I do not feel alone. Does that make sense?
In terms of time to be me, both the quiet time to get on with things and the room to kick off the Richard items and spend the morning not ‘stuck in him mode’. Look if you want to think of me doing the housework in a 50s dress, knock yourself out, but it really wasn’t that at all. For one, I couldn’t find my white gloves and pearls 😏but I’m not sure I’d want to put a fancy frock at risk…. so biker boots and a denim dress it was.
Yes, there’s some nasty – and judging by certain idiots unable to wave properly, possibly Nazi forces at work. Yet there are small pleasures, maybe even little victories to be had. To take pleasure in the things that are going your way, and to do what you can to support your queer community. We’ve survived bigoted morons before and we will continue to exist.
So, what’s been working for you and what are you grateful for this week?

Oh, I don’t know. There’s a certain frisson about doing domestic chores in a frock, although if the dust has reached Quentin Crisp levels or the sink needs unblocking, perhaps not your best one.
It struck me while reading you post that laundry can be a problem if you don’t live alone or don’t have an accepting or supportive spouse.
And in deference to the wisdom of your quotation, I did sweep all the carpets yesterday, upstairs and down, though her indoors was moved to ask, “Are we expecting visitors?”
Did QC say something about the first four years being the worst and then it didn’t matter? 😉 I don’t think we’re that bad at cleaning! 😁
In the past, I have vacuumed in heels and TBH it’s a really good way to learn to walk in them. I mean, you’ve got some support from the Hoover, and the back-and-forth plus moving around the place, all helps in learning balance.
Mind you, maybe it’s terrible advice and it’s just folk have been kind not to point out my awful gait 😁
To your comments…
1. Yes, to be in an unsupportive place is not nice. I feel for those in that situation – even if it’s not hostile, but the person feels that must hide away. Difficult times, bless them.
It’s good to count the blessings rather than dwelling on the lousy things.
Jane Goblin and her bonnet-parasol raises few concerns herself. The top-hatted mammal (Elon Muskrat?) seems reasonable under the circumstances. But I don’t want to know what that collection of objects to the right is.
Have a good weekend.

I think they are supposed to be chess pieces, but by the smile on her face you can never tell.
I don’t know what websites you have been looking at and I don’t want to know! 😁
I’m hoping it was a pottery class, but I dare not zoom in 🙂
Indeed, Sue. I think I read the old adage of “it’s thinking on what we don’t have that makes us miserable, rather than thinking about what we do.” 🙂
I think the top hatted suitor is Mr Eustace Flumpfur. I think he’s stopped off after a visit to the fang clinic. For some reason he has one fang up, the other down. I believe he’s seeking advice on to go points up or down. The former may make him look a bit orcish, but the latter may put him in the vampire camp. Decisions, decisions eh? 😉
“So, what’s been working for you and what are you grateful for this week?”
Not Keir Starmer anyway.
Errrmm.
I got a new jumper from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

Best I can do at the moment 😉
The new jumper is very you. Looks fabulously cosy.
As to SKS: you need to do much better on trans rights, not slide backwards. The last junta did that.
