A look back: January

Hi,

With the ever decreasing temperature, snow, and rain, shall we take a moment to ignore the cold and chill in another sense? 🙂

In last week’s post I mentioned I’d had a look through the photo archives. It seems age and weight gain help soften one’s features, even if you lose eye shape definition 😉

Outfit 20 was a new top bought in the sales and in rather linng the coloured pattern. To think, COVID19 was working its way into the population and we’d yet to really react to the situation.

In 19 that’s a top donated by the Ever Lovely Mrs J and I think I was aiming for work smart. A much cherished rose dress appears in 18 and my sweater dress in 17. The latter is a little short on a tall person, so it has to be with leggings.

In 16 I seem to have gone a bit gothic and 15 is my compliment dress. Whenever I wear it, someone says something nice, bless then. Perhaps it should be my go to outfit when Lockdown Three ends and we can finally meet up again. I could do with a confidence boost 😁

A favourite wrap dress appears in 14 and the tunic in 13 has since been passed to charity. I seem to have changed shape around that time. If that’s the first wear of the biker boots, I’ve had my money’s worth 🙂

Not sure about the coloured tights in 12. Funny in that colour pop looks great on others. Maybe I’ve not quite worked out my shade yet? Are brights a confidence thing or would the office dress been better with nude? Not that I had the choice back then. 🙂

The last photo, 11, has a skirt I bought in a charity shop and the top combo I borrowed from Mrs J.

I think my favourites are 18 and 19. A couple of lucky finds and I think I’ve mostly got my head settled around how I like to look. Ah, to be out again with friends. Something to look forward to later this year.

  1. HiLooking back,

QUITE A COLLECTION. AM SURE MANY OF US HAVE OUR OWN LITTLE COLLETION PARTICULARLY OF CERTAIN FAVORITES. I MUST ADMIT. MY COLLECTION STARS TWO DRESSES>>WONDERFUL…

THANKS OR THE LOOK BACK… MARIE

  2. I like them all. If I had to pick favourites I’d say 15 is especially cute, 18 is classy and 19 is a winner.
Colourful tunic dresses are very much my thing so I have a fondness for 13.
I seem to remember purple tights were in around about 2012.
11, being taken on a level rather than from above, shows off your legs well. Shapely pins, Miss; look after those (and they’ll carry you far!)

    1. Purple was indeed a thing back then. Ah, fashion eh? Like the dress with the colour contour, you don’t see them so much these days.

As you say about tunics, they are rather fab and easily tweaked to create a different look. Are they the gateway from dresses to separates? 😉

Thanks for the kind words re the pins. I think a number of years cycling to work during my 20s changed them. Serendipity FTW. 😁
